Looks to me like 18th/19th century with the advent of steam power (and all the dirt and muck it had as a byproduct). Industrial revolution Fable could be awesome!

Am pretty sure this is right. It's definitely forward from Fable 2 but not was far as the 1950s

I'm just going to say it without mentioning specifics. Hopefully Fable 3 isn't a big pile of garbage like Fable 2.

Fable 2 seems like it was very badly rushed in my eyes. The signs of it are evident everywhere. It didn't initially occur to me, but it was surely released when it was as a means to artificially stack the 360 lineup with supposed "big titles".

I suspect Fable 3 will be what they hoped Fable 2 would've been, and I pray that they get it right this time. Without a doubt, it was my biggest disappointment of this gen.

Oh i pray they also get it right, there is no way i am hoping or wishing for this to be a bad game i would love them to get it right and be the best game ever made, just cant see it

What i want from fable is fable design and characters in a world like elder scrolls, just imagine fable with that kinda build/world it would be absolute fucking phenomenal

But i cant help but think the people at lionhead (not all but the ones who have influence over the games build, cant be arsed.

Actually Optimus I'm thinking that Fable3 will be what Peter wanted the first Fable to be. I don't think he will ever catch up with his ambition , so I tend to look at Fable as a kind of progression. As a whole gaming experience instead of three games, Fable gets a little better each time another chapter is released. I'm just hoping that Natal won't be too much of a distraction for a game director who really seems to have difficulty remaining focused on the things he promises us.

Judging from the artworks that were posted, the land of Albion is continuing to expand. Bowerstone is looking more like the slum that it always was, and the area surrounding Bowerlake has developed into a community. I can still see Hero Hill and the entrance to the Tomb of Heroes, but I guess the gypsies got kicked out.

You're king in Fable 3 though. You start out as king. How does anything in Fable 2 seem like that's what that game aspired to do?

I would rather say Fable 3 is the natural evolution of the progressive empowerment in the Fable games so far.

Not to mention the series extends several concepts from Black & White which will I got the sense will be more prevalent in the third installment given the vibe I got at the GamesCom announcement.

i heard that he's scared to show it since he knows it's going to piss a lot of people off (his actual words lol)

wonder what changes he's made to get that sort of reaction. either he's changing the way the game plays entirely (RTS/god game would piss me off) or it uses natal (which again, would piss me off)

If it incorporates Natal in a genuinely great way, it would be a "killer app" for me personally though. I wasn't even thrilled about Fable 2 ultimately, but it kinda borders on being something I'd truly love. Not that Natal in any way brings it closer or further away from realising that potential, but let's just say it's a game I'm willing to let experiment with that stuff and have me be excited about the possibilities.

I think it's safe to assume we'll still largely be playing it with a controller though, I just think there'll be layers on top that utilise Natal.

And yeah, not only do I think it's likely that Natal will be part of the equation, I'm more or less counting on it.
