Super PLAY are weird, they gave KillZone 9/10 aswell. I dunno what that says about PDZ except that it can't be totally and utterly pants.

The again, looking at KillZone it doesn't really confirm that the AI is fixed, because KillZone has some of the most awful AI since people started calling AI AI.

Wow... i can tell you did not play NFL 2k5... EA was affraid that the 2k series was going to take over.. because it was a better game... looked a hell lot better and was fun... hence why they steal all the ideas from it... madden is great.. but the NFL went with EA because they had the cash... ea felt it was better to get rid of the compitition...

I played 2k5...and for the history...the only thing that truly knocked my socks off about it was the commentary guys....i always said take those two guys and put them on Madden and it would ridiculous...! The NFL didn't get sucked in by EA to get rid of the competition....i mean hello ppl...the guy whose name is on the game is in their hall of fame...fans know him...he announces their Monday nights...i mean hello....!!! Madden came along way while it was with EA....and fans just always jumped to it...competition has been coming from Sega since Joe Montana's Sports Talk Football...! I like the 2k series...but its gameplay isn't really impressive to me...yea...i like the other goodies like fans(something Madden copied), but why being afraid when your video is in the Football Hall of Fame...??!? Hello.......

Yeh that 8 player COD2 sucks and I was looking forward to playing this game online.
Must be cause of system performance and netcode.

I can't wait for the PDZ review on Gamespot.

Man the review scores vary so much. It look like you have to review the game yourself folks. Go to the nearest kiosk and try the game out before buying them.

Most of the time it is because there are sooo many different ppl out there looking for soo many different things. Its rare that you see someone who writes for a mag and has a review show online totally seperate from the mag (ie Dan Shu). But yea...pretty much....you need to get the games and go on your own...but most of the times...the reviews are pretty reliable...hehe...."most of"

PDZ got a 9/10 in the OXM UK version! I checked their web site to see if they had it their too, but i couldnt find it.

The pros were: Superb Replay Value, Colossally addictive on Xbox Live, More weapons than Charlton Heston, Better-than-high-end PC visuals

The only minus was - Embarrassingly Wacky Voiceovers

Gamespot's Gregster (Greg Kasavin) gave Condemned 8.0 and justified that score as brilliantly as always.

Go there and watch the video review. It streams for everybody.

I STRONGLY recommend watching the video reviews for ALL of the games on Gamespot. Their reviewers do an excellent job of justifying their scores, and you get a great feel for what's good and bad about the game that way. You can stream the video reviews regardless of if you're a member or not and I cannot stress enough how important I feel it is that you do watch them. Also, if you're curious to know just what made the score what it is (which is a carefully calculated number from the different categories) go to the written review on the site and you've got scores for each aswell as a short pros and cons blurb.

Amped 3 - 7.6
Condemned - 8.0
Madden NFL 06 - 7.4
Need for Speed: Most Wanted - 8.4
Project Gotham Racing 3 - 8.8

They also have some impressions of PDZ that sound pretty positive, but I'd say the general feeling I get from the write up is in the 8.0-8.5 region. I think it's fair to predict that PDZ will have its fans, but just as many who are miffed that it doesn't play like Halo and that it's really a sequel to Perfect Dark. Greg Kasavin and Brad Shoemaker are handling the write up and subsequent review though, so the verdict is in extremely competent hands. The gamespot score will be the first to have any real impact on me.

Greg confessed to loving the soundtrack, so it's already in better hands there than on 1up and IGN where they refered to it as "bad euro-diva dance" and "porn music". I guess they really just watch a lot of porn.

Finally...I played PGR3 and I can tell you it doesn't deserve a 10. Im glad GameSpot is thinking the same. I've always trusted GS for their excellent reviews...I don't trust IGN all that much, and I sure as hell don't trust 1UP.

But yeah, I figured most the launch titles would get 7.0 - 9.0 scores.
