Graphics Driver conflict maybe ?

Do you have the correct FSB and Multipliers in Bios settings?

Definately check all your bios settings, that was my first thought as well. Make sure you have the right rations for memory, HT, FSB, etc... Not sure what options your MB gives you but make sure everything is NOT overclocked.

If you have more than 2 DIMMs you may want to try removing the extras as well. I always install new CPUs on a fresh install... you may need to start at "step 1" and get your manual for your MB and pretend you are reinstalling. Make sure you check every step (troubleshooting this junk online is hard because you never know how a rig is setup).

Btw, can you get into windows at all? When exactly does it crash?

Phew took me awhile, but I FINALLY figured out the problem. Well here goes and for anyone that WILL eventually run into such a problem if they ever decide to go with an athlon x2 processor.

I'd get this blue screen then a restart at random times ALWAYS while the system was in the middle of booting into windws, eventually it started to happent he moment I finished typing in my password to enter windows. Basically sometimes it would crash before I fully got into windows or while I fully got into windows. Any attempt to run any sort of multimedia such as the n3 trailer or anything crashed my pc and many times i didn't have to do anything for it to crash.

I've tried my my athlon x2 4200+ on 2 motherboards so far the abit fatal1ty an8-ultra nforce 4 chipset you guys should know that already though and i've tried it on my asus a8n-e mobo also an nforce 4 mobo. This problem took place on both so it isn't just a specific mobo issue I think it has alot to do with the processor not vibing well with a certain program.

The culprit was nvidia's forceware network access manager and the nvidia forceware ip service. So if you are using any sort of dual core amd I'd advise to make sure ALL things relating to Nvidia forceware network access manager be uninstalled.

Had to go into safe mode then went to start, run, then msconfig and made sure to disable anything that wasn't absolutely necessary narrowed the problem down to nvidia network access manager. Unchecked any boxes in startup that had to do with it and also unchecked all boxes relating to the problem in services.

This is just a warning for anyone that is thinking about getting a dual core and ever runs into this blue screen restart issue with their new dual core and here I was considering returning the dual core to newegg good thing I took my time (thought my cpu or mobo's were screwed at first till i tried my new asus a8n-e and knew no way in hell two different mobos from 2 different companies suspiciously having the same issue unless the issue is whats on my hard drive.

Also acert you are right a complete format would've saved me ALOT of hassle I would've never experienced the issue in the first place (then again i would've surely installed the forceware network access manager so I would've surely have had it happen to me)

I'm glad I went through this issue so I don't have to worry about it ever again. Going to go put up a review on newegg and make sure to warn people about this and how to fix it.

Running the cpu now as you can guess and this baby is smokin :)

Wow the multi tasking possible on this cpu is truely amazing I'm here putting 10 anime episodes to a rar file and i'm doing everything else on my pc especially gaming with not even the slightest bit of performance loss its as if i'm not even rarring any files.

Gives me really high hopes for the types of things the 360 will be able to do with its triple core cpu.
