Gamersyders Top Games of 2009 - Voting Thread

IT'S BACK! Ladies and gents of Gamersyde. Welcome to the 2009 Edition of Gamersyders Top Games.

As many of you might remember, we did run a voting last year to determine the Top 5 games of the year and I thought we should do the same again this year making it hopefully a yearly thing :)

So,

THE RULES OF THE VOTING ARE

[01] -List 5 (ONLY 5 please) games that you have played this year regardless of platform from 1 to 5. The First being, obviously, your game of the year. The first game on the list will get 5 points, the second will get 4 points and so on... If you have played less than 5 games, that's fine, just list 4 or 3.... The minimum would of course have to be at least one game.

[02] -To ensure a good representation of the forum's opinion, please list only the games you have completed. Voting for a game you haven't finished just ruins it all.

[03] -Games eligible to be in the list are only those released between Jan 1st - Dec 31st 2009 in your territory.

[04] -Voting will remain OPEN until JANUARY 15th 2010

Since completion was a must Assassin's Creed 2 got bumped and after that i couldn't even remember if i played and finished any actually good games this year. I probably did and just forgot. Oh yeah right, i guess Demon's Souls should get an honorable mention, but alas i haven't finished that one either.

I didn't play enough new games this year for my vote to be representative.:( I did play some new games, but skipped a lot of supposed GOTY material as well.

Aren't decades counted like centuries, you know a century is from year 1 to 100, so a decade is from year 1 to 10? :P

This is basely on full games not counting demos because the Bayonetta demo was the most fun I had in the entire year so as my most played aswell.

1. Assassin's Creed 2

It's the only game I've played extensively (almost completed it) this year besides COD4 and MW2. And MW2, for me does not get any points for being a frustrating POS.

I'd give COD4 all the points I had, were it not released 2 years ago. AC2 feels unique and is a beautiful experience at times. But, it can be a real pain in the ass and repetitive. I think, 3 times is a charm and AC3 could well turn out to be a masterpiece.

I was thinking, and came to the sad conclusion that I only bought 3 games this year and 2 of those (FM3 on Xbox 360 and MW2 on PC) seriously dissapointed me (with their online), so I can only list 1 game (or expansion pack) in my top 5 this year, which is pretty sad..

I seriously hope 2010 is gonna be better..

5. Brutal Legend(It kills me to have to add this to my list, but it's the only other game I've completed that wasn't a rhythm game... I haven't played UC2 yet...I've only watched my roommate play it... but I wish I could have put that high on my list somewhere)

Same. I've played more COD4 and TF2 this year than any new game. 2009 was a pretty weak year... but to be fair, there are some really good or promising titles I have yet to play. Dragon Age, Batman, Borderlands, Assassin's Creed 2 etc. If I had to make a list now it would probably feature Street Fighter 4 and... that's all. Let me think about it.

Oh.. and Left 4 Dead 2.. but I don't actually get my copy until Christmas.
