it wouldn't help anyway, the trailer has old shitty footage. the livestream had better shadows and foliage. so they've been sitting on that trailer for a while i imagine.

i'm treating this as a VR title though. so as long as it does the sense of presence justice, i'm in.

I can't believe the GT series turned into these spinoff galore with like five years between real releases, just with marginal improvements.

Sony has really mishandled this franchise. 6 never should have happened, and this just looks like amateur work.

6 definitely should have happened...they just chose the wrong console to release it on. lol. it could have been used to shift even more PS4's instead they released it on a console that was about to be dropped by most consumers.

i mean, even GT6, with it's weak ass sales for a GT game (4.7 million as of december last year), still sold more then most racers on the market. besides maybe forza 3?

No one is saying they are *bad* games, they are just not doing anything outside the comfort zone. It feels like a yearly sports game now......by EA. The peak was GT3 imo, it's been all downhill from there, with a sharp decline after GT4. GT4 was obviously a lot better than GT3, but the core was the same, just *a lot* more content. They've left some things linger for too long that are just killing the vibe for me now. The poor engine sounds, the pinball crash physics, etc. They've made some bad design choices imo, like a boring grind-heavy careers, mixing premium and non-premium cars.....so dumb.......

Anyways, wake me up when a true sequel is out...if we are still in this generation. Now that I think about it, it feels a bit like what happened with the football series Winning Eleven. It was so good until #8 -- that game was so good compared to the equivalent FIFA. Then they let themselves go, releasing more games with marginal improvements, and FIFA just went off. Now it's not even close.
