Will still pick this game at some point when its cheap enough, but reading each review has really dulled my appetite.

I've never seen so many excuses/blind over-acceptance. It's as if all GT had to have was good driving phisics( debatable, IMO) and the rest of the game could be mediocre. The graphical inconsistancy is the biggest offender. Of course having weak AI has NO effect on the racing in the game. Or the poor collision physics. Or the MAJORITY of the cars being shit to mediocre visually. Or the low-poly tracks. It's all ok if the base driving physics are good. Lol. Some people have been so brain-washed that it's massively laughable. I haven't played it myself( other than the demo's at Best Buy) so I can only comment on what I can see, but I can certainly see that there has been a lot of misleading press about it up till now...

MYTF - your example was still preposterous. Halo 3 had many gameplay enhancements, AI, physics, equuipment (which goes beyond weapon balance). However, as I understand it, GT5 directly reuses a lot of content from GT4 with 80% of vehicles and significant percentage of tracks, whereas Halo 3 has entirely new campaign, a bunch of new maps and a bunch of remade maps, not reused ( not imported from Halo 2). That's why your example was totally absurd.

It's kind of annoying that people assume that game x deserves 10/10 rating and anyone who rates it lower is an idiot/can't play/biased/based the review on hype etc. I did complain about reviews in case of GTA4 and Mass Effect 2, they unnecessarily raised my expectations and I was sorely disappointed about the game. However, I only did so after I had played the game.

Wait... that's GT5? I'm so confused. I saw a post on Kotaku (or Gizmodo) comparing GT5 screen shots to real life. How could there be such a huge gap between some images and others?

Most big AAA games dont send there review code out till very last thing.

I know, I was just pointing out the hypocritical hysteria over the (as you pointed out, standard practice) Kinect review embargo when it was obviously actually about a day (or at least a few days in the case of IGN's Sonic Free Riders review) earlier than GT5's review embargo.

Most people like to moan, i am one of these people.. but there is a diffrence i suppose between the review of a £130 piece of kit and a £34.99 game, but if people were THAT bothered by reviews, i am sure they could wait a few more days to read reviews before buying the product, not like they HAVE to buy it on launch, not like there family is going to die if they do not.

They dropped the ball pretty bad, I mean 5+ years in the making and "that" its one of the cars you can get :/

I really hope you are not stuck with non premium cars for too long at the start of the game if not the backlash will be insane,driving simulation or not.

It may not apply so much to you, but that is exactly the kind of stuff the SDF have been spouting as some kind of excuse. Then they get pissed when people don't want to give the game a 10/10. That pic isn't indicative of the games AA though, and the "jaggies" are the pixels from the mega low-rez texture.
