Earlier today I killed some guy using a needler using a single magnum:) It was a medium range battle and he was dead before he knew what was going on but I think the pistol in this game is a lot stronger and more useful than the one in halo 2 but not quite as strong as halo 1 (a good medium imo). Bungie did a good job with the pistol.

The needler is great, but it's not so great at medium range when you start strafing. It has pretty crappy mobility in that sense, which I think is a good thing -- because otherwise it would be way too powerful.

I'm really loving the needler in Halo 3. I don't think I could have beat the game solo on Legendary without it. Sure makes quick work of the flood, especially those annoying transforming turret/spider ones - god those are a pain.

Yea the needler is good stuff.

I learned that I completely underrated the mauler tonight. Mauler+melee combo is just devastating.. it's so much quicker than the human shotty at pulling the combo that it hardly matters that the weapon is less powerful by itself.

I think that needler is just way overpowered.....

It has crappy tracking when your target is moving perpendicular to you though.. which I think manages to balance it out. It is totally powerful, but it has a weakness.

I had some great games tonight. Picked up my officer badge finally too. Think I need like, 20 more EXP for captain now? Will start working on that tomorrow.

I had a great game on Construct tonight too. I'm actually starting to really like that map, despite having hated it initially. I went like, 20-1.. sure it was a social game but it was still brutal. I should make sure I save that one.. too bad I died at all.

I also just played a game on Zanzibar where I nailed two headshots with one bullet. Totally clip worthy :)

Yeah i'm glad they brought the sniper penetration back from Halo 1, it feels so great when that happens.

That puts it at almost 500,000 in the UK alone in 4 days. Quite frankly, that's staggering, even if the UK is the second biggest market for a Halo game.

I would venture it's well past 3m worldwide already and well in with a shout of outselling Gears of War before long. 5m before Christmas? Very possible.

I think it'll outsell it's predecessors by some margin over the generation

Well I honestly didn't pay attention to MP discussions, I was busy in SP. Kind of sad really, 12 players? WOW.

I really don't see myself playing much with those numbers. Five players on lone wolf is not crowded at all, it's just much less fun. That design decision as you call it just cut my game time in half.

Did you like, read my post? It will be 16 players once they establish the best hosts. I think it's sorta sad myself but that's a little overreactionton. Plus, go talk about it in the other thread.. since we were already having that discussion a few pages ago.

Those maps are pretty well suited for 8v8 anyway. There are only three large maps. And I never said 5 players was crowded -- I said it's not and it's why it's BETTER for lone wolves than even 8 players would be.

Hell I'd love a 1v1 playlist. Pure skill no luck. I'm qouting these posts in this other thread. Lets go discuss it there.

of all the 85 games ive played so far, only 6 have been vahalla, my fave level
and thats bad enough,
but every one of them was shotty snipers!!!!

anyone else SICK of shotty snipers!!???

So very sick of it. I'm not that great of a sniper, and my worst games are always shotty snipers matches. I think I'd be much better at this game if I were 1) a better sniper or 2) the toned down shotty snipers a bit so it wasn't like every other game. The veto button is basically the shotty snipers button.

They also need to fix the map rotation. I played for a ton yesterday (today) and I played Construct and Guardian maybe twice each.. yet High Ground and Snowbound came up dozens of times.. and having already played both of those maps hundreds of times in the beta, that's pretty frustrating.

Valhalla is my favorite shotty snipers map though.
