Glasslands was fantastic and ended so...

it was all silent in Daves house as he lay in the bath reading the final chapter of glasslands frogs could be heard croaking in the pond, the cat purring on the mat next to the bath

Fantastic book.. but, like all great things, it ended :(

I think the inclusion and planning for split-screen is something that, by default, places a limiter on how good the pure singleplayer experience can look. I would like to believe that they only make sacrifices to the split-screen experience of the game and no compromises at all are made to singleplayer, but I think the planning goes well beyond just that and they have to make sure that the non-splitscreen experience isn't so far out there in certain ways that the splitscreen experience isn't a joke by comparison.

I think they want to maintain some semblance of parity even going from pure sp to splitscreen gameplay in campaign, and because of that it might hold back the core experience in some fashion. Splitscreen isn't something that comes for free, unfortunately. It comes at a cost. However, I would love if it didn't. And if this game can look anywhere close to those screens in motion while still maintaining splitscreen play, then I'm all for it. I'm actually very pleased to hear that Glasslands is good. I've been hearing some very negative things about that book. Glad to hear from others that it's apparently bs. :P

Glass lands is awesome, people who hate it (like my misses) is because it goes from one story to a other (multiple storys weaving together) and it pisses my misses off in books when they go from one perspective to a other, kinda like a season of lost in 1 book lol

well thats my thoughts anyway.. fuck em, twas ace.

My playlist begins with tick of the clock (driver) and abduction (infamous 2) for my warms up excersice then it blasts into thunderstruck (acdc) and rage of sparta (god of war 3) .. sooo on topic what the fuck am i on about..

and the start of the song when them what sound like some kind of pipes at 27 seconds.. sooooo warcraft.

Some nights I am just up for some good sci fi ambient tracks and not super hype action stuff, then its fine with me :)

Mood I guess, but most of the time, quick rise build ups to intense epicness lol

Its ok I guess.
Thing is that I listen to orchestral soundtracks day in and out, it has come to a point were most of it sounds generic and boring. They might fit with the gameplay or a movie scene but outside of that as a stand alone, alot of sounds boring to me and doesnt "click" with me.

Its rare I find tracks that stays with me and I want to listen to it over and over again, like for example some of the Modern Warfare 2 tracks, or Halo Reach "Winter Contingency"...etc.

Some of those halo shots look like they've been through instagram. Really old, pastel, sepia looking. It's different, i'll give it that. I do hope the enemies are a bit less carttony this time. Less comical, more intimidating.

Yeah, i'd be more then happy for them to break consistency in regards to the grunts too for instance. They're the joke enemy type of halo, and it'd be better to see them in a more agressive, serious and intimidaring light. Same goes for the jackels. All of them really.

WOW!! they look insanely good, i can only imagine how good it looks in motion!!, best ive seen hands down on consoles thus far!

The music is great also, Marty will always be top dog for me, but i welcome something fresh and new..

The GI article already states we will be getting new enemy types and races, i for one cant bloody wait!!

Well, we do have a first person shot from the Halo 4 vidoc that takes place in the very same level and location that's showcased in the SP shots here, and it does look amazing, but it's not exactly the ideal way to view it, however.

To see an in motion, first person perspective video of the very area shown in the SP screens, skip to 1:58-1:59 in this youtube video. Hit pause and you'll be able to see it clear as day. It looks very amazing.

Make sure to keep hitting pause and then play to really get a good long look at it. It does look pretty damn impressive, and I wouldn't say it's very far off from the screens we've seen, but of course we still need a better look at it than this video, regardless. I quickly tap play and pause to see it in super slow mo. The player was first moving normally, and then they began to sprint before the scene cut away to something else.

Yep, and supposedly they will be more intelligent and sophisticated than the Covenant, and so they will apparently work with eachother in ways that is different from what we are use to, and it will apparently create new gameplay opportunities or something like that.

It's not BS, Glasslands is by far the worst Halo novel I've read (all except Halo: Flood). It sets up the background for Halo 4 OK-ish, but the way it repeats the same stuff over and over (and over and OVER again) is just terrible, especially if some of the incessantly repeated stuff is just BS.

Bear's Cryptum and Primordium are scifi nerd's wet dream on the other hand :)
