I'm surprised no one has really mentioned the soundtrack that was hinted at in the vidoc; it seems the standard has been well and truly raised in that department as well, which is no easy feat considering the music of Bungie's past games.

I especially like the slow and foreboding tune, which comes in around 5:10 until 5:30, while Marty's talking about tragedy and heroism etc.

Nah, not referring to the flash of light, that was obviously from some kind of explosive device, I'm talking about the steps in general. They look like something is going on there, can't quite put my finger on it. Ambient Occlusion maybe? Acert, what do you think? The steps look really great. I can't stop staring at the damn things.

Nice posts Acert. Yea, it took me forever to initially spot that bird flying off to the left and casting a dynamic shadow on the mountain face.

I like the unfinished cutscene, the one where there seems to be conflict between marines and Noble 6 - I can't wait to see how it'll look once it's finished - right ow the entire background seems to be placeholder. Also, notice how one of the marine's knee is completely disjointed, lol, they definitely need to fix that.

Not all of humanity is united under the UNSC. Spartans were created to forcefully oppress any kind of insurgency by the separatists colonies(dunno what you'd call them exactly in the Halo universe) before the first contact. That scene might be a confrontation of that nature.

The thing is they are all getting into their transport and Noble Six is almost like making them leave... They've got their guns out and pointing it at him while you see Noble 6 reaching for his gun at the end.....

Wth? I just spent like 5 minutes watching it full-screen, slowly going back and forth between frames a bunch of times before going on to the next 2 frames, and I didn't see anything remotely bird-like or bird shadow-like.

When they show you going outdoors in CE and then switch to Reach outdoors, look way to the back on the left. VERY small bird--casting a dynamic shadow on the ground.

They totally rewrote the shadows and lighting; they really did go all out on shadows it seems (which was what their GDC or Siggraph stuff was about last year).

The bird is there when they show the transition from Halo : CE to Halo Reach. It's like a spec to the back far left, but you see it, and you also notice it casting a shadow on the rock face directly below. It isn't there for very long, I personally had to have someone walk me through where the damn thing was lol.

And I have yet to see 4 player split screen confirmed. Split-screen was confirmed, but they haven't been very specific, whereas they have been specific about the existence of 4 player co-op. I really do believe that Halo Reach will have Natal support. I'm not so much insisting on Natal support because I prefer to play Reach that way, but I just strongly suspect that Bungie will put it in there. They keep stating that there are many surprises in store with regards to features that will be in the game, but that they have yet to reveal, and who knows what they could be? I strongly suspect there is a Natal Reach surprise in store for E3.

If I'm wrong, so be it, but I just have a feeling :)

They (Marcus Lehto, Project Lead) said it would have feature parity with Halo 3. So unless something significantly changes....
I really do believe that Halo Reach will have Natal support.
I'm 99% sure they confirmed it wasn't a Natal title as well.

Their confirmation wasn't as ironclad as it could've been, in my opinion. I've seen these kinds of statements from devs/publishers all generation, only for it to turn out that they weren't being entirely honest about their intentions.

All they truly confirmed in my eyes was that Reach wasn't being designed primarily as a Natal title like so many on their forums seemed to believe it was, and that they are developing Halo Reach to work with the Xbox 360 controller as a top priority above all else.

I would've liked to see them say that Halo Reach is ONLY being designed for the Xbox 360 controller, but their statement provided them with what I can only describe as obvious wiggle room. I've seen their statement, I'm just not buying it as of yet. If E3 roles around and it doesn't turn out at that event that Reach is revealed to have some sort of Natal functionality in place, then and only then will I consider the matter to truly be settled. :)
