This is an interesting quote...I was just playing and enjoying Uncharted 2 yesterday and the game looks phenomenal...I have no problem playing something like Uncharted 2 then going back to the PC and playing Bad Company 2 or Crysis 2 multiplayer. IMO the graphics in these games (also replaying STALKER 2009 complete mod) don't make the current gen stuff look obsolete at all. Yea I don't know what you are smoking dude
Geometry, textures and effects are all great... But the image quality is rather bad, look at the washed out textures.

Image quality is fine in videos and low texture quality is understandable since its an open world game on a system with 512 MB Ram....I have played all current gen open world games on PC and they all have poor texturing even GTA4 with a GPU with 1 GB VRAM.

Your standards are way too inflated szaromir, I am glad I don't share the same state of mind :P

I was talking texture filtering, not their resolution. I understand why it is the way it is, but I'd rather play the PC version if it existed :P

Theres little to no aliasing goin on here and the draw distance is pretty terrible just like the first one, but up close it looks really good. I didn't mind the bad graphics in the first game and i probably won't mind them in this game either! The gameplay is just soooo good

I think the game looks great this time around, much better than the weird graphics in the first one.
Most games looks bad in screens but fine in motion, this is one of them.

Hoping so, we'll see when we have it in our hands in... less than a month! :)
Hopefully this game has custom music so I can find some epic tracks and make a playlist, would be perfect for User Generated missions.

Very nice, best part was the finishing attack.

I LOVED the way Cole climbed on the enemy and then jumped in the air to a spin and then finished it with a amp attack.
I want tons of those moves in these games, spins, speed and mobility :)

Put a good 2 hours into inFamous 1 today and I simply LOVE this game!! I can't believe I stopped playing it after I bought it last year, this has to be one of the best open world games ever (my personal favorite after Red Faction Guerrilla).

Pros:
Traversing the city is actually FUN!! Something that all other open world games get wrong!! Climbing big buildings, grinding on train tracks and cables ....way too much fun lol

the non story related activities like reviving people on the street is addicting! I can't stop doing that lol, I haven't hurt any civilians so far

Upgrading and getting new powers is fun and awesome...again most open world games don't have this

The gameplay itself is a lot of fun!! Frying enemies with electricity and tossing shock nades doesn't get old lol

Cons:

Story is poorly told...minimal cut scenes, the in-game story telling (over the radio) is kinda lame but the story itself is simple (big bomb goes off, you are looking for what happened....certain people etc)

I hate enemies that snipe you from across buildings...snipers in this game are lame

Don't really like the dark sewer levels with a lot of platforming...the levels are just too dark

the graphics engine is a bit wonky. Sometimes the game looks incredible, especially when they have a lot of depth of field going on but I wish the frame rate should be locked (game does feel fantastic when its running at 60 FPS though)

Overall...I feel sorry for people who didn't "get" this game, its truly fantastic. I am loving it so far (only on mission 17 or so). Will buy inFamous 2 for sure now (day 1), I am glad they addressed most of the problems :D

Yes infamous is a very good game, although flawed. I2 looks just about perfect assuming the storys good

yea they seemed to addressed everything with the sequel...seems a similar bump we got from Uncharted 1 > Uncharted 2

the real problem with the first was the shitty presentation and some poorly thoughtout characters. Other than that it was PURE fun, amazing stuff. This looks like my GOTY unless battlefield 3 blows me away (which it definitely will so... tough call)

they where some of my fave bits. kinda like the tombs in assassins creed 2. where there is a defined, linear platforming path that requires much more thought and skill then the regular outdoor exploration. was quite a cool way to introduce powers in a way that forced you to try them out. kinda sad to hear they're not in the sequel tbh

ok, after playing the demo 3 times over, i think it's awesome. they've improved things in big ways (visually, melee combat etc) and small ways (tweeks to the way existing powers work like the thrusters etc) and it runs well, and plays great. but the game has a serious lack of ambient sound. explosions, combat, dialogue all sound great, with plenty of punch where needed, but stand still in the middle of the road and you hear absolutely NOTHING. it's like a dead city. it's weird. even cole's movement sounds are practically non-existant. i'd much rather have the infamous 1 movement sounds of rubbing fabric and footsteps, then the almost silent movements of infamous 2's cole. i dunno if it's just becasue it's a demo or what, but it's a killer as far as the atmosphere is concerned. i;m hoping it's a non-issue in the final game?!?

Probably demo issue?

I thought the sound was good, the footsteps was nothing I cared for, after so much rusty zippers grinding from Infamous 1 I was glad to not hear anything lol.
But they need some sort of a shoe footsteps which this one didnt.

They will probably patch it in or something.
