I can't believe they even bothered with a sequel. How can games like this get a sequel, yet other way more successfull IP's get only one release ?
Hey man, Two Worlds is getting a sequel for fuck's sake. That's a heck of a lot more baffling than this getting another shot at the big time.

Any chance we can talk about the fucking trailers?

The teaser for the first Kane and Lynch was one of the best game trailers I've ever seen. Really got my interested in the characters. Then the game came out, reviews were mediocre, and I just don't have the time to play mediocre games.

These teasers are really great. I wish games would do more of this kind of clever marketing instead of the usual bad-movie style trailers we usually get. Granted, it tells us very little about the game, but it still intrigues me more than 90% of other bland game marketing. It definitely has me interested.

Another reason could be that the developers are attatched to their characters and story. I know if I was a developer, I'd want to do nothing but make games of my characters, and not some crap that was cooked up solely to market to some mass appeal design phylosophy...

The trailers have always been awesome, thanks to Jesper Kyd's music. But one question? So you've never played a "mediocre" game?

Like some of the people earlier said, the aiming system in the first one was really quite frustrating. While playing it, I didn't quite feel control over where I was shooting precisely, it was more of an area than a precise spot. Obviously you can't quite aim where you want in 3rd person shooters but I would have enjoyed a little more control for that matter.

Still, this sequel could come as quite a surprise. Wait and see I guess then ...
I completely agree, the pisspoor aiming of the first one was a dealbreaker for me, if they fix that in the sequel it could be good but I don't have much faith in IO as the Hitman series had shitty aiming which they never really managed to fix.

I will give any game a chance but if it is mediocre it won't waste more than an houras I just don't have time. Kane and Lynch was one example where the gameplay was so poorly and clumsily implemented that I reached the end of my patience pretty quickly.

The reviews it received were basically correct.

I completely agree. Even some of the best games and movies get such clichéd trailers. But trailers can be so much more. The original Kane & Lynch trailer was so simple, but so damn good. And I really like these CCTV teasers. A good trailer can be fascinating in it's own right.

I can certainly see your point there, but I bet the guys who developed it think it's the greatest story ever told. I've known plenty of artists that are attatched to their horrible creations...

tbh i enjoyed two worlds quite a bit...it definately had it's issues (performance and voice acting being two of the worst) but playing RISEN recently has made me realise just how good two worlds actually was/is. seriously, RISEN makes even the worst of RPG's (too human et al) look good.
