Im on the third DVD, with 25 hours of gaming, and loving it! :D

I was expecting to see more CG cutscenes... I like them :p

I think you are way off base. The music choice is inspired and fits perfectly with the the theme of the game, not too mention the brilliant cutting of the trailed to synchonize with the music. Now it might not fit the game as you played, but from the stand point of selling the game and themes represented by memory loss and retrevial, the twists and turns the plot, and the growth of Kaim through memories and skill linking as compared to the growth of Alice the music fits perfectly. Of course, it doesn't hurt that I think the original song is one the best songs to come out of the acid rock era.

I think it fit well.

Alice in wonderland she was dreaming. In Lost Odyssey dreams play a role. There were a number of moments in the trailer where the music and what was being shown matched up surprisingly well.

Even if some of it required a bit of reading between the lines.

I don't care Uematsu IMO is one of the best game musicians around and its a shame they didn't keep his final boss music for the trailer (like the JP trailer).

Ramses you are obviously being bias to the song as you say you are a fan of it, personally I think the song is shite .. so perhaps I am also being bias, but its my opinion and i'm at least allowed to voice it.

So based on that how can I possibly be off base ?

For those that don't know the trailer I am refering to its this one
Are you from the US? I can't remember. Anyway, the trailer works on several levels. First the synching of music and trailer fits beautifully. Second, for people familiar with the song (most every adult in the US) it has an additional layer of mean. For those familiar with the song and Alice in Wonderland, there is added significance. Finally, for all of the stoner, slackers out there, there is the trippy angle.

You have to remember that this ad is targeted at a very broad audience in the US. I don't MS needs to try to sell this to JRPG fans. It is the general 360 owner that they are targeting. Before this ad, I though LO would be successful it sold 4-500K in the US. If this ad is widely played, I think that it can go platinum in the US. Make no mistake, that ad is one of the two best video game ads ever, with Bioshock being up there as well. The real test will be how they cut the 30 second version.

That was the wrong trailer I linked to above by the way LMAO.

Anyways lets hope you are right and it sells the game, somehow I don't think its guna work in the same way as Gears, as many people wanted Gears prior to the trailer, and it was a mainstream game.

I agree that Final Boss music by Uematsu would likely work even better, but I do think that song was a nice unexpected touch.

Thanks for bringing it into my attention. All it says in my Play-asia account is that the order has been shipped on January 29th so I think expectine it today is a bit too optimistic on my part. what doy you reckon ? do they give traking numbers to check with the carrier or something ?

heh, I remember it took nearly 4 weeks for me to receive my Naruto game from them. I too selected the cheapest shipping, since it was my first time using them. Yeah, never again :p
