anyone play LO? im really thinking of getting it, i have a short attention span tho, besides chrono trigger i didnt actually get hooked onto jap rpgs.

Hopefully, in LO2 they will eliminate the freaking random battles or at least turn the encounter rate down to something reasonable. It is so high in LO that it is almost unplayable. It is unfortunate as the game itself is a awesome but the random battles probably take off at least 1.5 points from the overall score.

LO sat untouched for over week because despite really liking the story and most of the game, I couldn't stand the thought of dealing with so many random encounters. I had hoped that the reports of low encounter rates were accurate. Unfortunately, the encounter rate is probably 4 or 5 times as high as it should (well actually there shouldn't be any but that is another story). It seems people must have been grading on some weird JRPG scale where the encounter rates are relatively low (albeit still well in misery inducing range). I would really like to finish the game, but as now it seems that I won't make it that far.

LO encounter rate is actually pretty low/average for a JRPG with random encounters. Heck Enchanted Arms had more than LO, and then there's SOA......my god...

Just got it on friday, I'm about 7 hrs in, really enjoying it so far. I can already tell that i'm going to enjoy this game much more then a I did with BD as battles are far more tactical, in depth and require much thought.

One thing that really surprised me is that, although I love the art style, I cant believe just how last gen the textures are, at times it really looks like a Hi Res ps2 game.

It makes it worse when you consider that its a UE3 game. Pretty disappointing graphically, very inconsistent imo.

Is there anyway you can get the +3 Skill Slot later on? I gave that damn crow(if only I could fry your ass) like 15k, and still didn't get it, so I gave up.
Sed has +3 skill slot as one of his learnt abilties but its between level 35-48.

If you want the +10 Skill Slot then fight the Holy Beast at Numara Atoll. You can add that up to the +5 and the +3 Skill Slot.

Spent 15 hours into teh game so far, midle of second disk I would presume, it's quite decent but there is a few disepointments so far.

First of, I heard it had a lot of cutscenes... well I've either done something wrong or I'm not seeing all this supposed cutscenes, sure there is some but not exactly many. First disc maybe had a bit more then a hour of them, or did peopels count in the visual novel parts as cutscenes?

Secondly loading times... seriously what was the complaint? I don't even have time to really notice them, neitehr do I ever manage to read the tips I get on some of the loading times LOL they disepere within a second.

How much did this game sell? cos its getting non stop ads on TV, on most of the channels i watch...
I didnt see this many adds for either MassEffect or Halo3 as comparison, so deff MS is going all out, is it working?

I've ordered this and being quite the JRPG noob I was glad to hear that there is little need to grind. I just know that I will probably get to the first boss, get killed, and give up. I really want to experience the whole game but I have no clue at how to handle the combat.
