Mine were level 87+ for the last boss, I did a whole load of un-intentional levelling when i was trapped in that maze for over 10 hrs!!!!
and that's exactly my point! I left the Temple of enlightement when I saw that I would be leveling way too much but unfortunately even level 65 was WAY too high for the final boss!

lol, I sort of did the same thing when you were supposed to nick a pass card from some guards and I thought you were supposed to.. you know.. find some NPC ones for some context sensitive action. I spent absolutely rediculous amounts of time climbing ladders up and down. Before finally I had gotten so powerful and bored that I just threw things around in the inventory, happened to stick someone with a pickpocket ring, and voila. :|

And this is from a guy who willingly buys Professor Layton and stuff!

it's very important to note here that the problem of over leveling for bosses is a problem for all JRPGS! and I didnt see any game do something about it which pisses me off!!!!

Lost odyssey's bosses were pretty challenging and you have these high expectations for the final boss and then Boom!

Well it is a bit of a crux isn't it. I mean it's amazing that they hold up as well as they do what with people playing them so differently. The alternative is Oblivion's way of "leveling up" parallell to you, and that's just annoying.

I guess the shortcut solution is to just have the boss be rediculously over-powered, but I'd prefer if they made them tricky instead. I mean the first boss wasn't impossibly strong or er.. healthy.. He was just really tricky to beat because you needed to THINK a lot. The last boss here is almost apologetic in its design, as if made to be beat in the first try to keep the momentum of the finale.

It's disappointing to note that this is a bit of a trend these days whatever genre you play. :/ Zelda: TP was especially breeze-like.

Absolutely. As you go through Lost Odyssey, the bosses are well suited to your leveling because there's a level cap per each area and you simply cant go wherever you want at those points but towards the end, you have this huge open world and balance gets out of control. The idea they need to keep in my mind is to adjust the final boss difficulty based on your levelling ... at least that's the way I want it to be. Give me a Challenging boos even if my character is at the max Level 99. For me personaly, games like this are all about Hyper Epic Final Boss battles!

Well I think you can have bosses that are insanely hard to just.. you know figure out the right tactic for, without necessarily making leveling moot. I mean I spent ages with the last boss in DDS and it turns out that - while I was a bit underpowered and did have to grind a bit to realistically beat it - I'd just been doing things wrong.

But yeah, absolutely, awesome boss encounters is bliss. :D

I miss bosses in general to be truthful. Metroid, Zelda and God of War seem to be the only ones concerned with doing them right in other genres.

Absolutely. Haha, I remember seeing the hydra in the first level and based on that alone I just ran out and got the game. Mind blowing is a word often used carelessly, but in GOW's case it's.. the word made for it.

I agree leave the ToE till you have finished the game, remember to make an extra save point though.

I think this is the reason why I got bored with it before i completed it, there are a lot of side quests to do, including picking up missed spells and such, you kind of lose track of what you are doing and the purpose of the game sort of fades into the background.

Just a quick recap on what downloadable content has been released for the game so far:

DLC#1: gives you the inventory item "Master's Secret Script" with the "Weapon Guard 2" skill and adds the story "Samii the Storyteller" as one of the dreams you can unlock in the game (to find this dream, look around in the pub in Uhra)

DLC#2: Costs 200 Microsoft Points. It comes with the 'Memory Lamp' (accessible in the Nautilus later in the game) which lets you watch previous cutscenes, another Thousand Years of Dreams short story (this one is located outside Uhra Castle, there are 2 soldiers standing near a hole that you have to talk to to activate it), and a ring accessory called the 'Killer Machine'.

Bonus Downloadable Content - If you preordered the game - US ONLY! but rumours suggest it will be available everywhere soon!
Those who decide to pre-order Lost Odyssey will receive a card imprinted with a unique download code. Shortly after the launch of the game, the download code can be used to pick up an additional mission and an unlockable weapon via the Xbox Live Marketplace.

DLC#3:

This is the one I just posted above but here is the link again here anyway:
