Watched an anime called "paprika" trippy as hell, visually pretty damn stunning...but convoluted tripe in terms of the story (typical anime tbh) worth watching just for the animation though.

Satoshi Kon is a pretty awesome anime director/writer/animator. He also did Perfect Blue (awesome thriller) and Tokyo Godfathers. Oh, and wrote for Memories.

It's definitely not your "typical anime." His shit is way above the average.

I am so glad I took off my Star Trek fan goggles and started watching other sci-fi shows. I thought Star trek was a benchmark and all other sci-fi were weaker compared to it, I was so wrong!

Damn I love Battlestar Galactica, I am so buying the blu-ray set once I get a job! I wonder why it's so short though? They should have stretched it out to 6 or 7 seasons

Just watched disneys tarzan on blu ray. Seen it loads of times before, but it's one of my all time disney faves. Where most like lion king or little mermaid, or dumbo, or beauty and the beast etc, this is the king for me in regards to traditional disney animation. Great songs, great characters, story, funny, sad. Only some of the pixar greats comes close to it imo. Blu ray is very nice too, very crisp, clean lines. I'd recommend it if you aint seen it.

For me moonrise kingdom was a good feel-good movie, but ultimately kind of forgettable. Tennenbaums is way better imo. Totally worth seeing in any case :)

Battlestar Galactica was really good for the first 3 and a half seasons, then it takes a MAJOR dive. Too much emphasis on religious fairy tales, hallucinations about finding Earth, and the 5 elusive "skin jobs," totally ruined? the show.
They should have fleshed out the story a little..introduced new alien races, struggle to survive elements from Star Trek Voyager.....
Sad end for BSG IMO
