Both Tom Cruise, and Brad Pitt were awesome. "Oh, Louis, Louis. Still whining, Louis. Have you heard enough? I've had to listen to that for centuries!" :P

Saw the last two movies of the Dirty Harry Collection:

Sudden Impact.

The Dead Pool.

Great collection, quite enjoyable cop movies. Dirty Harry is a great character, and Clint was awesome.

Jennifer's Body.

Wasn't expecting anything good....didn't really get anything good, so I suppose it met my expectations.

I now find Amanda Seyfried a good deal hotter than I had previously though.

Mmm... yum.

But yeah, I thought it was awesome as well. Marginally better than the first one.

Micky Rourke put in a good shift I feel.

Saw Iron Man 2 today. Less heart, less coherent messaging, more explosions and CG wrestling than the first.

I already enjoyed Iron Man despite itself, so losing what I enjoyed about that, 2 was bound to leave me rather cold. Nothing offensive or bad, just kinda not doing it for me.

Saw Kick-Ass last week, that however quickly cemented itself as one of my fave films.

I can't believe anyone actually preferred Iron Man 2 to the original. I didn't think it was awful, but the first movie was much better.

And yes, Kick-Ass was pretty kick-ass.

Just got back from Iron Man 2. Enjoyed it mildly thanks to RDJ and Sam Rockwell and some kick-ass art design on the Iron Man/War Machine suits and the Hammer drones.

Unfortunately, it felt scattered with too many forced elements and some weak-ass action. Honestly, you've got these awesome-looking, flying robots, and you have them get destroyed either by flying into a metal globe or getting gunned down in a poorly executed mess of gunfire instead of a killer, physical battle? Missed opportunities abound!

The choreography for Scarlett Johannson's fighting was pretty fantastic, but the ridiculous poses at the camera after each successful enemy dispatched was cheesy as hell.

As my roommate said, it felt like they went straight for Iron Man 3 instead of 2. Couldn't agree more.

I think that was kinda the point, seeing as what's-his-face was struggling to take on one.

Attempting to be cheesy by doing all those shitty poses was the point even though the scene only needed her kicking ass, him getting his ass kicked, and the final reveal of all the guys she beat in order to be completely comically effective and simultaneously bad-ass? That doesn't make sense.

If the point of the poses was to make me cringe, then at least they succeeded at that.

I honestly didn't think Scarlett Johanson worked, poses or no. She just seemed awkward in the Black Widow getup, and while it wasn't Halle Berry as Storm levels of miscast, she didn't really seem as imposing nor strikingly sexy as she should have.

To be absolutely, brutally honest, I even thought her "normal" scenes with Downey were oddly awkward. Lingering "look how pretty she is" shots and disappearingly fluffy writing. Not really sure what happened with her character.

Another thing worth mentioning. The Last Airbender trailer before Iron Man 2 ruled so hard.
Even Prince of Persia (new trailer) looked decent, but whatshisface is still awkward in the role.

I liked her as Black Widow and didn't find any of those moments awkward. I will say Iron Man 2 was really too long. I think it falls victim to not trimming it's own fat off. The first one was just precisely made, and everything was timed out perfectly. This one seems like it's in a sprint the entire time and never slows down, somewhat of a weakness.

What alien?
I don't think it's really an alien movie, just something about people having unexplained experiences.

Granted it's not a great movie, but it's better than Paranormal Activity.

When they realized (during hypnosis) the owl wasn't an owl, they would start denying anything happened; no further description.

So what would they base the alien off of?

I understand though, you got something you didn't expect and aren't happy with it.
I wasn't exactly thrilled with it myself, but not because I didn't see little green men running around.
I mean, it's interesting to think all this could have happened, it was just a long two hours for the genre
(and when I say "could have happened", I don't mean alien abduction interpretation, I mean the reports themselves).

They may be pulling a Blair Witch, I don't know. Though I don't really care.

Like for example in PA there was footsteps of the demon that was in the house, creepy sounds too,in Signs you see one of the Aliens up close.

But in this one nothing,I know this movie was not about that at all it was not going to show you exactly a creature and stuff like that, but at least a glimpse or a shadow or something to lets us know that they are talking about that because as an audience I can put it into context several other explanations to what happened to them one of them being a conspiracy for what really happens in there, kinda like the Chupacabras or to send the attention to other direction.

Shogun Assassin

I have been in mood for old school classic samurai movies, so I watched this. Going later on to watch the Miyamoto Musashi movies.
I wish I could find Shogun Samurai though, seems pretty cool with Sonny Chiba.

Well, that chick did see those blurry black figures enter her room.

It almost seems like, according to this movie, that is all "they" will let you see of them, other than manifesting themselves in other people.
(when people were speaking that ancient language under hypnosis, bodies contorting to the point of breaking, etc)

Pretty wierd stuff.

Yeah, I guess before plopping the DVD in, I expected some clear cut aliens.
After watching it I realized their intention wasn't to say "SEE! ALIENS DID IT! WE ARE NOT ALONE!"

They were just illustrating the accounts of what happened, maybe taking a bit of artistic freedom for the sake of the movie.
Again, that's if it's based on any actual data, not all part of the writer's imagination.
