You can't make assumptions about scenes that were never shown. Yeah, the last kick was never shown, but who's to say it never happened? For all we know both things could have happened, it's never shown it's all up to interpretation. Nolan was very accurate with what he wanted to show and what he didn't. I doubt we'll find any clues in the scenes that were shown.

If it weren't for that last little cock-tease of a plot device, no one would even be having this conversation. That's my only problem with this movie. It makes you question things by screaming, "QUESTION EVERYTHING!" at you in the final second of the film. I don't think that's particularly awesome or brilliant or whatever. It does fit thematically with the rest of the joint though, so I'm not really going to hold it against it. I still think it was an excellent movie.
That's how I saw it, anyway. It's the best movie I've seen this year, anyway.

Interesting. I was pretty certain that scene was identical to the dream state scene. I guess Nolan really did want to leave the ending as ambiguous as possible. That actually annoys me more than it stands to enhance my appreciation of the film. It seems more obvious now, given little hints like this one that we're just supposed to argue about it... which honestly... is pretty stupid. It basically means *there is no proper ending*, which just means that discussing it is properly pointless.
This movie was freaking great!
Camp horror with, for the most part, some amazing effects and Nathan Fillian! *man crush*
If I told you James Gunn directed it you'd probably get a clear idea of the movie's style.
Must see.
Oh well, whatever

As annoying as overhyping anything can be, selling a movie short in an attempt to offset the hype seems worse to me.

Something I heard from someone, and I want to get your guys take on it. How do you feel about the guns in the movie? Necessary? I saw it as just adding accessibility more than anything else.
Oooh, Profound, isn't it?

The fact that I watch a lot of 'Hollywood through and through' movies is why I think it's so fantastic; as Tinks says, this is head and shoulders above anything else currently in the genre, and we're able to compare them because we watch them. I don't see a lot of Hollywood films that actually make you think, or have a degree of complexity and originality to them; it's all effects, effects, effects nowadays. Nolan uses the technology not necessarily to drive this movie, but to compliment his vision for it. This is the only movie since the LoTR trilogy where the first thought I've had after watching it is: "That was awesome. I need to see it again." Part of that is because of its complexity and mystery, and part of it is because it's simply a beautiful movie.
Using the 'oh, you don't watch enough movies' line is plain cheap.
Saw for the first time Casino, i liked it.
