Yeah but still its based afterwards.. you would think they have new gear by now :(
No I won't. :P

They hunting methods changes by hunter so if this ones don't have state of the art by Predator standards gear that doesn't mean anything.

Besides this is based after the first so chronologicaly we still can't have the Smart Disc, not the Combi Spear, and all other cool stuff, but like I said yes we can because it doesnt matter what time we are, they basically choose whatever the hell they want at the time to hunt.

Just one tip; Don't watch this with your friends and family expecting a feel good movie.
A friend of mine did and he hated the movie.

I watched it with the lights turned off, by myself and I freaking loved it.
That movie was damn depressing, lol. I thought it was good though. Having a son myself, it really resonated with me ( of course, I get a little misty for any father/son stuff *sniff* little stinker!).

I just watched the first Predator last night and was really shocked at how easily it demanded my attention( I was trying to design a flyer for one of my classes, and could get shit done until the movie was over).

Also saw How to Train your Dragon- awesome movie as well...

I don't have a son and I still shed a tear to that film.

Also watched Predators recently and I agree with the opinions of you lot. Very 'been there done that'.

Saw the A-Team film too, and thought it was pretty good, although the dialogue at times seemed dumb. But yay, Sharlto Copley was in it (Wikus from District 9)!

The Haunting in Connecticut.
Thought it was really good; probably the best haunted house type movie since Poltergeist, and it definitely makes The Amityville Horror remake look like a joke (though one could argue that movie didn't need any help in that dept.).

I was genuinely creeped out a few times, and it doesn't take 2/3 of the movie to get going, like some other borefests out there.

Paranormal Activity 2. Scared the crap outta me! It is more of the same from the first film but if you enjoyed that then you will definitely like this sequel. Some very jump out of your seat moments but also a lot of genuinely creepy parts as well. Really enjoyed it.

Just watched How to Train Your Dragon and thought it was fantastic...right up there with some Pixar stuff. I dunno how anyone can say Pixar is overrated though. They make such consistently good movies that any praise they get is well earned.

I wholeheartedly agree!
Saw both How to train your dragon and Toy Story 3 recently.. Loved them both!
The Toy Story Trilogy is probably still the best I've ever seen, closely followed by UP, Wall-e and How to Train your Dragon.

Toy Story (1 & 2, yet to see 3!), Wall-E and Monsters Inc are my favourite animated movies I think.

Pixare has some ups and downs though. I think The Incredibles sucks for one, and i never liked Monsters Inc that much either. Cars was utterly "meh" as well. But hell, Toy Story is good, Toy Story 3 is greata, Up certainly hitn the spot and i can hardly complain about Wall-e.

What kind of buggs me about almost all these movies though is that they are so bloody carttonish, i'd love to see a studio like Pixar take a crack at a more realistic style, or at least not so very simple in character design. The style is impactful and great but man, i'd love to see what they could make if they tried for more detail :)

Also, i saw "Himlen är oskyldigt blå" this monday. It was a pretty damn good movie actually, i really liked it. Since it's a swedish movie i guess, except for maybe Simon, Sath and Sanghee, you guys won't have much opportunity to see it but it was pretty cool none the less. I also know one of the actors that had a pretty big role in the movie, so that was fun as well :)

You're talking about the art style right? Because to me Wall-e and Up were pretty deep on the character development to be honest

Wall-E isn't detailed? Check the first 30 minutes or so and then get back to me.

Pixar movies are awesome but not as awesome as HTTYD for me, for instance if I had to rank them it will be like this:

How To Train Your Dragon
Finding Nemo
Wall-E
Ratatouille

Didn't like UP that much, opening was awesome but that was it for me.

As far as cahracters go, no not especially. Both Wall-e and Eva are really simple and i don't remember much else as being all that incredible from a modeling perspective. All their movies are fan-fucking-tastic when it comes to animation, rendering and compositing work though. Really, the movies are beautiful, but still somewhat lacking in detail. Just hop on over to zbrushcentral.com and have a look in the featured gallery ;)

Really? Shit, that's easily one of my favourite animated movies. I honestly don't believe that anyone could think it sucks.

Even the Pixar movies I didn't like that much are still far from sucking - Finding Nemo, Toy Story 3 for example.

I don't think The Incredibles sucked, but it's one of my lesser favourites with regards to Pixar's films.

I found teh characters rather unlikeable, the theme didn't really speak to me and it was neither especially exciting nor funny...I know a lot of people like it, but i just personally never saw it. In the same way that i was never THAT enthusiastic about Toy Story either, it was alright but i liked part 3 a whole lot more than the first. But whatever floats your boat, as they are well made movies and i think it's just a matter of taste in this case, so i won't be arguing about it.

That said, i mean sure, it wasn't as horrible as a Troma movie or something like that. Not even close, but probably my least favorite pixar movie and one i do not plan on watching again.
