Good lord, now i've watched all 3 of them. Why is this schlock so popular? Who thinks Edward Cullen is anytihing but a complete lame wanker who looks funny? Women have now officially made irreparable damage to vampire mythos. Someone needs to make a kickass movie based on Vampire the Maquerade ASAP for some damage control.

At one point did i see a faint glimmer of light though, as if the movie knew how lame it really was. Seeing Mr. Hunky werewolf standing aruond being ripped with no shirt on for the 2903589205th time, edward goes "Doesn't he own a shirt?". At that brief moment i sort of connected with the movie, but it lasted for about a nanosecond before i realized that it wasn't there to poke fun at the absurdity of the movie but rather to show how jealous and sensitive Mr. Sparkles was.

Seeing as how i read every single entry in her vampire series i can't rightly hate them all too much, but then again that was a long time ago and i probably wouldn't appreciate them at all as much now. But no, you are right, they are not comparable even in the slightest as Anne Rice just leaps ahead on every point possible, leaving the twilight crap in the dust. I still think Vampire the Masquerade probably has the best take on vampires and werewolves though.

But i mean, the whole romance bit is so retardedly shallow. Edward and Bella has ZERO fucking reason to be in love with eachoter. And shouldn't a goddamn 100 year old immortal act a little less like a bloody highschooler? At least when making decisions and well...whenever he isn't actively trying to blend in to the highschool setting really.

As for the werewolves, i'll just call them indian mancandy from now on cause that's the only real function they fill in the twilight world.

The worst part of it is that the peripheral characters seem to have way more interesting stories than Whiney ass bitch Bella and Mopey Mc. Sparcles. A mexican vampire horde during the civil war? Rape and murder and revenge? Yes please, do a movie on those stories instead of this emo garbage.

My fave part was in the last one, the entire movie was bella screaming to jacob "YOU WILL GET HURT! THEY ARE VAMPIRES!!! THERE LIKE TOTALY FUCKING RAD!! AND THERE LIKE THESE NEW BORN THINGS!! AND THERE LIKE SOOOOOO POWERFULL COMPARED TO THE ELDERS!!!!!YOU LIKE WILL DIE JACOB"

Fight begins, only "wolf" that is hurt was jacob, and he was only hurt so bella could go "like OMG! i like think i love you as well, cause your like so ripped"
Seriously the vamps were shit, they had there arses handed to them on a platter.. they was about as hard my third leg when Mrs thatcher is naked on tv and its cold.

Not going to lie i enjoyed the movies, i dont know why because on repeat viewing there utter shit ( the misses loves them...)

I read the books because I was making fun of them, lol. My brother's wife said that I shouldn't make fun of something without reading it first. Valid point. I ended up liking the books well enough despite the estrogen. There is some cool stuff in there, and unlike the legions of dismissive snobs( of which I was a member), I don't need every vampire rendition to be the same. If you want hardcore vampire, go read/watch something else, you don't have to be a douche, and you are not better than a Twilight fan. The first two movies were OK, but not something I'll watch more than once. It's amazing the lessons you can learn from the smallest things, if you look for them...

Frozpot: well it's not like i dislike the movies just because i want to dislike them, there are plenty of flaws, they are pretty stupid and don't feel especially well thought out. They sure hit home with their intended audience though. No i don't need every vampire story to be the same, but there are takes on the concept that do the same stuff that this would-be harlequin romance tries to achieve and does it better too. Anne Rice being one example, and i wouldn't exactly call the White Wolf version with all the clans and internal politics your regular vampire story either.

Well, one part of that could be that the most popular thing ís often piopular because it caters to the lowest common denominator, as such some pretty basic and often simplistic thing. Like girls liking twilight because they like fantasising about having two studmuffins wanting them and getting wet over that rather than watching a good movie :P

Watched the American, great movie, it kinda hypnotizes you like Lost in Translation does, highly advise it to everyone who enjoys movies that are in simlar vain to Lost in Translation

RED is a great flick, made me laugh, cant recall much more due to i was slightly drunk..

Misses made me watch You Again, holy shit.... avoid at all costs, you know how it starts you know how its going to play out and you know 100% how the ending is going to roll, utter shit.

Kids made me watch that Arthur thingy.. now this is such a bad movie, i would put it up there with house of the dead, every other frame is missing (i assume to save money on rendering time) the voice acting is vomit the story is .... there is no fucking story, the bad guy appears in the last FIVE fucking minutes, he escapes the "underground" and credits roll... seriously there is no conclusion.. christ this was shit, even my kids hated it.

Without a paddle, love this movie, everything you want from a bonding/treasurehunt/camping flick

Into the Blue.. not to bad, lead roles have the charisma and acting ability of those fish currently been washed ashore, the story went in a way i did not like (drug dealers...really? ffs, and the bad guys were overall wankers, i prefer it when the bad guys have some fun at least (fools gold for example). but i enjoyed it overall.. its a treasure movie, there hard not to love.

Book of Eli, from the word go i knew what the book was so why the big secret its obvious.. enjoyable tale though.

It's a lot like Spiderman, even the build up to a sequel.

I do like how they mentioned Scott Pilgrim; was a good reminder that I still need to see it.

Friday the 13th (remake)

Actually it's less of a remake and more of a reboot, or something in between.

5 people die in the first 25 minutes of the movie... then the title of the movie comes up.
I was like "sweet! that was just a setup for the rest of the film!"
It feels like it's own little mini-movie

A lot of story and progression from the first 4 films is condensed here, without feeling hacked up, but it also feels like a completely new movie.
Think Rob Zombies' Halloween, how he combined parts of the first two films while adding his own (which makes me wonder what his Halloween II has to offer).
Only the people who made this film did a better job than Zombie.

The kills are pretty fantastic and obviously inspired from the earlier movies.
Even the ending will seem familiar and leaves itself open for a sequel like most of the previous films.
(obviously... it wouldn't be Jason if he actually died)

I was really hoping for something good from this film, while expecting the worst, but it turned out really good.
Of course there are people out there that hate these "remakes" and feel that any attempt to retell the story is sacrilege, but I'm a bit more accepting as long as they are done well.

It was the first in my Christmas stack of horror films so I have like ten more to go, plus I got the Nightmare on Elm Street Platinum Box Set!!
So I'll be busy.

It is better. For one, it doesn't have Sheri Moon Zombie acting in it.
As nice as she is to look at, I hate watching her act.

Well, maybe that was just the role; she was a better fit in The Devil's Rejects.
