Robin Hood, the Ridley Scott version.

Really damn good!
It's like a prequel in many ways, and much more entertaining than any other Robin Hood movie.

Up. So unbelievably good, quite possibly my favourite animated film to date ('up' there with the rest of them at least).

How they manage to convey such genuine emotion is astounding.

Saw Drive yesterday. It was good. I feel a bit like half of the movie was just slowmotion scenes with soft pads in the background though, that came off as a little bit pretentious at times but over all a good movie. Did not like the shitty indie-pop music though, i wish they'd have used something with a bit less hipster flavor :)

Seen both. Really liked How To Train Your Dragon but thought Up was a lot better!

Think a closer comparison would be Up and any one of Despicable Me/Toy Story/WALL-E. In terms of emotional connection I thought Up was fantastic - don't mind saying that there were tears in my eyes (a lot of that was because it reminded me of my grandparents who passed away).

Bahaha, How to train your dragon is a great animated film, but it's just good entertainment, it doesn't provoke genuine emotion like UP or like Wall-E for that matter.

Wall E is better than both IMO.

Up for me falls apart around the little kid (still amazing) in the same way for me Wall E falls apart with the humans (still amazing)

Ratatouille to me is absolute brilliance and on par with Up and Wall E there as fantastic as each other, but Rata does not have any flaws.

Up > Wall-e > How To Drag Your Trainer

I will say Wall-e is the more rewatchable, and definitely identifiable with younger audiences. But Up just really settles as one of Pixars greats. For one, it is the first film that actually stars real people as the protagonists. While some of the situations are fantastic, it is the most realistic of their films and the most plausible. Being able to add humor to so dark a subject and make it endearing was what makes it so special.

I thought Up did a really good job of getting you emotionally hooked at the beginning, but it kind of felt a bit flat as it went on.

Wall-E, The Incredibles, and HtTYD are probably my top CG animated movies.

Up gets props for being the most down to earth Pixar film ever. Think about all the other films you mentioned.

Robot, super heroes, dragon viking, and then Finding Nemo is about talking fish. It's pretty easy to keep the viewer entertained when you suspend disbelief with the extraordinary. Up gets my respect for keeping it about an old man and a cub scout. Craziest thing in the film is that gravity seems to have been shut off.
