I watched 10, 000 BC and I liked it. But the ending....the 5 minutes before the ending was just stupid.
I can't believe that the entire movie was going fine (for me) until the end, damn it.

But I thought it was very cool movie, good feel, cool atmosphere, good score pieces (especially with huge scenery, I got goosebumps a few times).

Just watched No Country for Old Men today. I was thoroughly enjoying it up until the end which felt like quite the anticlimax. Also, I thought Javier Bardem's character was very creepy and all, but was it really worthy of a Best Supporting Actor Oscar? I can't help but feel that there was a male in a supporting role out there who simply did a better job of...well...acting.

And for no good reason other than I'm a glutton for punishment, I watched Ste... ugh... Step Up 2. Some of the dancing was good but not really much better than what's been on that American dance group show. The rest of the movie sucked balls and was made worse still by having Missy Elliot's "Ching-a-Ling" song(read:abortion) in it.

crash - exceeded my expectation. i usually sceptical about movies featuring hip hop musician (ludacris). but this movie was good, strong message, if you live in american society, you understand the reality its trying to portray

Same. Actually I've never been too fond of Bond films until Casino Royale.

Be Kind Rewind
I don't think everyone will like this film, but me and the other half certainly enjoyed it.

Couldn't stop laughing during the Ghost Busters scene. Especially the part when they figure out how to shoot night scenes during the day. oho that was brilliant, just thinking about it makes me chuckle.

The film has an undeniable 'feel good movie' theme running through it, but its not too in-your-face and cheesy, so I approve.

Oh and I'm currently in the process of re-watching the Bourne trilogy. I forgot how good the first film is.

Watched Tokyo Godfathers today (yeah, I'm a bit late to the party) and I thought it was aaawesooomeeee.

I've watched three of Satoshi Kon's movies now - this, Perfect Blue and Paprika - and I'm turning into quite the devoted fan. Frankly, I think Tokyo Godfathers is up there with Hayao's Miyazaki's best.

Great movie. Satoshi Kon rocks. Studio Ghibli is better, but all three of those films are excellent. Tokyo Godfathers is probably his best, from the perspective of story telling. It's easily one of the most moving animated movies done in recent years.

When it comes to emotion though, nothing (including any of Miyazaki's films) holds a candle to Grave of the Fireflies, which continues to be the benchmark in that department.

I love good animated movies. I love good animation period. While it's not a movie I feel like taking this opertunity to plug the OAV release, Abenobashi Magical Shopping District. If you're into anime, it's a must see.. and it's especially entertaining for those movie and game geeks out there who can really appreciate the parody aspect of the series. It's a bit like FLCL, thematically, only better (which is ridiculous praise, because there are few OAV's out there that are better than FLCL).

I honestly wouldn't be able to decide which is better. I've seen all of Studio Ghibli's stuff aswell, and they're just really different in terms of HOW the stories connect. Whispers of The Heart and Grave of The Fireflies are the only ones that even attempt a similarly realistic emotional connection I reckon, while the likes of Kiki, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Porco Rosso, Flying Castle, Valley of The Wind, et cetera have a completely different vibe to them

Although Satoshi Kon's movies are often bordering on (or crossing the line of) surreal, they connect on a very human level in a way that really, really appeals to me.

I saw Milennium Actress yesterday and I thought that was absolutely wonderful too. Made me cry twice. :|

Samuel L. Jackson doesn't suck in a lot of movies.

One he did suck in however was Jumper, which I watched recently. I was entertained a bit, and I've had a thing for Rachel Bilson for awhile. I really wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless it happened to be on tv on night and they had nothing better to do.

I saw the trailer for Batman The Dark Knight once again and can't wait anymore :(

Well I watched Dan in Real Life, kinda good movie, but I'm tired of such "comedies".

Hitman : pretty good, even if they transformed the videogame, the movie was very good, I was impressed. I thought it would suck, but it does not. Rent it!

It sure did. I wasn't discussing how good his movies are though, but rather, I was disagreeing with the implication you made that he sucks.

Man i loved that movie, it was so awesome and so corny, but it was 10x better then your general super hero flick (EG Spiderman, Superman ect) where in they would just fly around saving the world from destruction n saving innocent people, then get the girl, whereas in jumper, the guy does what any other normal person would do, and then gets the girl!

I'm going to watch Sicko tonight, should be a nice change of pace.

Sicko is great. It's Michael Moore's best movie (and his most important movie). I can't get over the fact that everyone thinks it's so funny either. There are moments where Sicko does seem to have a sense of humor, but it's also a very sad and moving movie as well. Then again.. I don't know that it would seem all that sad to someone who isn't American.

Regardless, it's one of the best documentaries I think I've ever seen.

(haven't watched it, just wondering)

Anyway, speaking of documentaries I watched King of Kong a couple nights ago and it was pretty flippin awesome.

I will never forget it.

Watching Sicko made me feel very shocked and very sad. I can't begin to imagine how many peoples lives have been destroyed because of it.

I just can't believe that America of all countries has a Health system like that. And that the Government is not doing anything to change it. EDIT: In fact they are doing everything in their power to keep it that way! Shocking!

Our NHS is far from perfect but it seems like a godsend compared to the American one.

That film is a real eye opener that's for sure.

This would be an entirely different topic, but it's a very difficult problem to fix. There are people within the government who truly want to fix it. The problem isn't only that they're not in the majority, but that insurance and drug companies have entirely too much power over the process.

Special interest groups get in the way of how we run our federal government. Never mind all of the right wing nut jobs that equate socialism to evil, and think that any form of social support is a crutch that only serves to damage capitalism, and our republic.

There is hope.. but this has been a serious issue for the better (or worse) part of the last several decades, and it has only gotten worse. It can still get better though, and public awareness of our alternatives are at an all time high.

People need to get pissed and demand change, or nothing will ever happen.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one(..Spiderman at least) for a couple of reasons. I really didn't think it was better than much of anything I've seen. I did find it entertaining kind of, but the script wasn't all that good, the acting was pretty weak in parts, and the action scenes didn't even touch that first Nightcrawler scene in X2. Also, this wasn't really a super hero movie despite the presence of a special power.

I will say that Jumper is probably better than some of those older Superman movies. I watched Superman 3 recently, and boy oh boy that was a complete write-off. Not entirely surprising that the new Superman movie wasn't too great either.

I sure hope you stopped at Superman III, because amazingly, Superman IV is worse. A sad ending to the Christopher Reeve as Superman run. Actually, those two never existed. Just like Batman and Robin. Those movies are myths.

Really eh? I can't bring myself to watch Hitman because Timothy Olyphant is horrible at delivering lines. I didn't like him as the bad guy in Die Hard 4, so I don't think I'd like him as the protagonist in a video game-to-movie adaptation.

Also, kudos on the avatar.

I just watched Guy Ritchie's Revolver today. Meh. It definitely felt like it was trying too hard to have some weird little hook to it, but it definitely fell flat. All the inner voices bullshit in the latter half didn't fit, and the one scene with Jason Statham alone in the elevator after leaving Ray Liotta's place was agonizingly long. The twist was predictable from a mile away and therefore had no impact. The main character's actions once meeting up with the other two main-ish characters made no sense at all. Actually, "meh" is putting it too lightly. This was a shitty movie. Someone might think it was good, but I'd be willing to bet that if he/she saw the same movie with a less well-known cast and was told that it was by some no-name director, they'd probably think it sucked too.
