There is just something in this game that is incredible appealing to me, yes it may look dull and boring and the gunplay may look weak to some but you know? thats like their opinions.

Seems like most of my "bitching" in this thread is agreeing with points already posted before I even entered.

Can't criticize anything without someone getting hurt. People take games way too personally.

Based on their approach to texturing, i expect to see a perfectly textured world, no unsightly uv mapping seams, no jarring, ugly transitions between surfaces. The texture work in this game 'should' be PERFECT. Time will tell if it actually is.

The no same texture will be correct, now the level of resolution of them on consoles will be low on some places and thast understandable.

There is suposed to be a High Res DLC textures for PC I think Carmack said in the keynote, he hopes though so I dont know if that iwll be the case in the future.

Mega texture doesn't mean best of the best textures.

I never said it did, not once did i mention texture resolution or quality (both of which are looking pretty mediocre in rage on consoles at least). Only the way in which they are applied to surfaces. In theory, rage "should" have no visible UV seams. And no poor, harsh transitions between surfaces (say between desert ground and a tarmac road). Not if the world is 'painted' on as a whole. But we'll see.

The game looks amazing!!, to many great games coming out though so will have to wait till late in the year before i pick this up.

This isn't the first megatextured game... and those low resolutions won't be better on the PC at launch. They're gimping PC textures just like everyone else.

I'd really love to see that UV map, lol. Is it all just one mesh? There has to be some tiling in there though- that's a lot of ground/rubble to cover. They are also stamping certain textures in there, they can just change orientation or blend with others, making them unique. It would be interesting to catch a seam or too though. Like some kind of scavenger hunt.

I thought Carmack said they might release really high resolution textures for one level to test out how it would work. They won't patch high resolution textures for the whole game! Game size would probably be quite insane if they replaced all the textures. I mean it is already +20GB.

I wasn't interested in this game at all for quite some time, but after seeing gameplay footage again and again, I just added the Anarchy Edition to my wishlist for coming October. The system requirements are modest as well from what I've seen. :)
