Kinda disappointed it will be smaller than first game, it easily took 60+ hours to finish it. First game has Prologue - 5 acts - epilogue.

Can't wait. Got my save ready!
But if I read it correctly, it's going to be shorter because there will be no (or less) retarted fetch quests, which is good. RPGs tend to have to much filler crap, it's good to see developers working on trimming it.

Yeah i guess. I liked The Witcher but if anything it dragged too much. Got it since launch and only finished it earlier this week :P

I was trying to do everything then gave up, it screwd bit my experience since i got bored. God the Swamp :/

It'll probably be released at a later time, though it'll require so much graphical cuts it wouldn't look nearly as good as in trailers anymore,

Lol. But people shouldn't take this coming to consoles 100% sure. They said they might, but who knows.

Wiedzmin 1 cost 22M PLN and sold 1.5M copies to date. Wiedzmin 2's supposed budget is 27M PLN and CDP assumes it'll sell at 30% faster rate. Given that PLN is much weaker than it used to be in 2007/8, it can have much healthier profitability.

1USD = 3,37PLN at the moment

Impossible. PC games don't make money. You need to sell 10 million copies on the Xbox 360 to be successful.

Sarcastic comments aside, it's pretty incredible that making a AAA game in central/eastern Europe still puts you in the range of a standard last-gen budget (27M PLN = 8M USD). Given that salaries in Ukraine are even lower than in Poland, you can only imagine how much money was made on Metro 2033.

Now, if the industry was more interested in publishing more of these games in a polished state, a lot of old-school type of games could have their renaissance I reckon. Right now they often hurt in QA department.

True and of course pc games make money, but there not stupid they will bring it to consoles its a no brainer, i also heard that Diablo might be coming to consoles too?

Yeah, I know. He's English though. No excuses ;)

And putting the horseplay aside for a minute, I think that some games just won't magically make more money on consoles. I suspect The Witcher is one of those games, and for different reasons than something like Diablo 3 or Starcraft 2. Those games will perform well above average on the PC (just like Bad Company 2 did--a console port!) because they're catering to content starved fans. On the other hand, games like Metro 2033 and The Witcher will just lose something in translation. Not that I think Metro 2033 did particularly well anywhere. It's already 50% this weekend on Steam, and while that will boost its sales, it's not very promising for a new game to hit those kinds of discounts so quickly.

Well Metro 2033 posted a healthy profit if its publisher is to be trusted.:P I don't think it broke a million copies, but that's the point - it didn't need to. Price cuts don't surprise me, the game is 3 months old already and retailers want to clear stock probably. Steam has to follow suite if it wants to be competetive with retailers.

You could use it on the first game, it didn't support it out of the box, but with this you could make it work: http://www.xpadder.com/

So yeah no reason why Witcher 2 won't be playable with controller.

If it comes to consoles, the wait should be quite long, probably 2012 release :P, since it comes to PC on summer or most likely a fall release next year.

I never tried it myself. But seems worth to look into, if you really want to use controller in games that don't officially support 360 pad. :)

It will the devs have already said as much.
CD Projekt has revealed during its spring conference today, that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be heading to consoles as well as PC.
