Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)
Loakum By FAR, the upcoming Game of Thrones King’s Road was the Game of the Show! It plays like God of War Ragnarok! :) (> 3 Months ago)

Edit: Hmm seems like there is 800MB patch for the game too which you need to DL. I have heard that auto patcher can be really slow so EA has some additional link where to get it.
Check this site for more info and links for patches: http://www.ea.com/redalert/beta.jsp

And yeah, I also hope I will be able to play with friends in this beta.. Just custom matches against random strangers would kindof suck, unless offcourse you are lucky enough to be matched with someone who agrees not to attack like crazy so the match is over in 5-10min without you being able to check out everything that's in the game..

There seems to be way to make own game with password and all. Should be great for testing the game.

Thank god for bit torrent, I'm not waiting in File Planets stupid queue.
I'm going to try it as soon as I'm done w/ the patch DL, which will be a few minutes. I fully expect to get totally owned though. Can you play bots?
edit: after playing a few more games with some other noobs, I'm starting to get the hang of it. The problem is that it seems to fall into the same old RTS pitfalls as other "classic" RTS models. The early game is all about your build order and ability to manage resources (even if there is only one resource) and how to effectively defend and attack. I know a lot of people like that.. and there's plenty of strategy there.. but.. I have ADD :P
I'm having fun, but it's probably not for me. I can only take so much of this classic hording and micromanagement bullshit.. so I might save it for Starcraft 2. The thing that really appealed to me about this game was the idea of a co-op campaign, so if any of my fellow PC gamers invest in this title I might join them just for that, but otherwise.. I'll probably pass.
Empire: Total War is more my pace.. and Dawn of War 2 seems like it's pushing more progressive concepts. I'll give the beta some more time though, and who knows, maybe it will grow on me.
The units are cool.

Love, Bungie.
With random people is a pain, they rush dont even let people have some time to get used to controls, units etc
Beta should have included a tutorial.
Its fun, but more of the same, not interested in play it on Multiplayer.
Might probably buy though, Singleplayer will be fun, and play in co-op, if someone i know gets it...
Looking forward more to Demigod and DoW 2 for my multiplayer strategy games. And this not knowing yet, if Empire Total war will have a way better MP component than older games.

You're too kind Isomac. That wasn't that bad, considering I'm self proclaimed C&C noob number one. I didn't really know how to defend myself, but that was fun, and it was by far the longest game I had gotten to play yet. Most of my other games have been around 20-30 minutes, and I have to tell people that they're not allowed to rush (though someone told me rush tactics don't work well in C&C?).
It's a little too oldschool for me. But I like it. If I were a little better at it, I probably wouldn't mind the resource management and crazy build order memorization. I should really try some of the more modern RTS games. Company of Heroes, Dawn of War, etc.

Well not really I don't mind losing (+ I hate when someone disconnects when losing). I was also sure that I will lose that match in some points of the game. *Ore mine depleting* hahah that got me to panic as did your ships. Well played man it was a good game.

The video shows what you can and can't do with the unlocker, and in the description there's a link (tinyurl, redirects to rapidshare) to the tool itself. I just tried it and was playing around in the sandbox with the Japanese forces some more. They're really cool, and it helped me explore some of the units more advanced functions without the pressure of having enemy units on my tail.
I also, almost jokingly, put the game into 1920x1200, thinking that it would crush my system, and I was pleasantly surprised. This game has very forgiving system requirements it seems. Granted, I have a lot of the settings turned down, but in a game like this I'd gladly sacrifice shaders for resolution. It runs great at that resolution, I'm very, pleasantly, surprised.
We should play again soon. I'm going to read up on Japanese tactics and build orders so maybe I'm more prepared for your land assault next time. Those transforming air/land mechs are awesome BTW.. but I think I need those big land mechs to take on those crazy tanks of yours, plus maybe some tankbusting infantry.
I tried the unlocker too. I didn't even notice in the last game that many units have secondary abilities. I also tried a bit all of the factions and every faction builds a bit differently. Now I understand how you get so many ore refinery's with Japan. I noticed that turrets can be build to water too. Hmm I just wonder will those have enough range to actually hit those cruisers... those shoot so far.
Seems like Allied plays almost the same as in previous C&C games, but there is some changes. I also noticed that there is small vehicles that can expand the base with Soviet/Allied so I don't need to build MCV every time or unpack my previous one when I want to get new ore pit.
Also seems like there isn't those final superweapons in the beta. Like Nuke for soviet, weather control for Allied and for Japan what ever weapon they have. Those skill you can unlock with points seem interesting. I would need more time to think how to use them.
There is definitely lots of strategy in this game. Like those jet fighters on Japan. Plus many units that can move on water makes it more different than previous C&C. I even noticed that some ships can go to land too :O hmm but mostly I just can't think that fast to do those moves before it's too late. I still think the game is really fun.
I have to say that I am a bit afraid of those big mechas. Those seems to just run through everything. Building, units, tanks... I don't know what is good way to destroy those. Maybe that Natasha?
hmm and that commando unit of Japan is annoying. She just lifts those big tanks and destroys them while those can't even fire back. Also money making is so fast on Japan that I am worried that you get so much more money than I that you can build land/air/sea troops at the same time while I only can do one of them.
I should put bigger resolution too. Last time I barely see anything else than couple tank's on the screen. New map is not going to have that much water... although every map had water and those cruisers shoot so long way that it's really hard to build base to good location.

Get back on Xfire noob. It won't crash the game if you disable detection for the RA3 beta in the options > games menu. I have no idea what's up with that--blame it on the beta, I guess--or maybe it's Xfire's fault. Someone should fix it. Even when it does work, the overlay isn't working anyway, so what's the point..
Yeah I know about that Xfire disabling, I did it yesterday. Hahah and now you call me noob grrrrrrr this needs some actions now. I'll destroy you next time so badly that you don't want to play another RTS game ever again /smack talk
I don't know but only thing I will miss is the precious hours Xfire wont count now :P
Btw we might get one more noob on the game too. 1 VS 1 VS 1. heheh oh no that would be too much for me because let's be honest it would probably be 2 vs 1 :/

I like RA3 though, it's fast, but not as fast as C&C3.. To be good at it you have to have fast RTS skills.. You stand no chance v veteran RTS gamers in it.. Games last 5-10 min max.. In CoH you will last a bit longer, still lose offcourse, but "enjoy" the game a bit longer anyway..

Good game earlier Iso and Uruk. Once again, I'm the first to die, but at least it was entertaining. Now, back to Call of Duty, I need to make myself feel better :)
I think resources end much faster than in previous C&C games. My income was really bad the last 20 minutes or so. I would need to expand more but I have really hard time to keep all ore refinery's. Like Uruk destroyed 3 of my bonus ones and that one dude stole some too. I think I need better strategies for those, like that I would actually buy some units to guard refinery's :p
I have CoH but I haven't have time to even try MP on it yet. I think I am around halfway of the SP campaign. Seems pretty cool game.
