Okay, like what the hell is going on MS!

This is my second console, and did you fix the shit no, you gave me another one which was USED and "fixed".

Well I know these type of thread has been done to death, but I wanted to share my dissapointment with others who have gone through the same situation like me.

My cousin was here after 5-7 months and I wanted to show him Assassins Creed on 360 (he is waiting for the PC version), and what do I get, a laugh from my cousin and also a dissapointed cousin.

I started the game and right after 3 minutes of the intro, it freezes.

I shut it off, start it again and 3 red lights. Did it aghain and it worked.

However, I got 3 red lights in various time but sometimes it worked.
However, I tried to put in another game and it froze, while I watched video nothing happened :S

My guess its the disc drive, so now I have to call in MS tomorrow to pick up their bullshit and give me a "new" one.

If it wasen't for Ninja Gaiden 2, Fable 2 and Too Human, I wouldn't give a rats ass about the 360 at all, it is worthless.

I can't believe how much of idiots MS workers are.
Instead of fixing the new ones perminent or atleast give those who have had MORE than 1-2 times in the repair shop should be given a brand new Xbox 360, not a used one.
I haven't started my 360 or even played games on in like 1-2 months now and not even more than 2 hours, atleast and not even everyday, and yet it crashes.

Honestly, this is going out of hand, and I am glad I bought a PS3.
I know most people have read my comment, about this, but I will say it again.

I don't care about if the PS3 graphics being slightly different from the 360, I want a console that has great hardware and doesn't die on you and everytime you start it you turn it on with fear.


This gen almost all the games are being multiplatform, so I am going to purchase the PS3 version for sure.

I just wished that NG2 was on PS3 so I didn't have to worry about it.

Anyway...I hate Microsoft for their shitty 360, but love their choice of games. Bad combination damn it :(

You can't say its the best console, best would mean its worth its money. (ie hardware that doesn't break)

Whats the point in having great games if you can't play them ? oe live in fear that this level could be your last.

Sure the 360 is a great console when it working but when its causing you shit loads of grief you don't think about that.

And damn right they should acknowledge their problem, having something break is different than having something that is faulty and shodily made.

The exact reason why i laugh at anyone that says Microsoft has great Customer Service, if they had great customer service, these replacement consoles wouldn't break after a couple of weeks.

They are taking you guys for complete idiots, and i for one wouldn't take it, if that happened to me i'd have demanded my money back a very long time ago.

Sath, can you check to see if your console has the extra heatsink? I assume it is not a falcon CPU?

You can just shine a bright light from the bottom and check closely.

You should be able to see a small heatsink towards the front of the console (or maybe not)

A bit more detailed describtion (more noobish one :P) I would try to look for it.

MS is real jerks, instead of releasing new versions with small addons, they should invest their money into what they already got out and fix these problems.

Honestly, if it wasen't for Ninja Gaiden 2, Fable 2 and Mass Effect (not ME so much now:S) I would just sell my 360 and be done with it and just keep my PS3 and earn myself some money.

I even might send the 360 to the repair and once I get it back I should sell it and buy a elite or something, but however, I fear that non of these 360s are better than the next one.

Heres the thing though, mine only froze when I put in a game.
But when I watched videos and switching on the blades nothing happens, it played nicely along.

But what I don't get is, why do I get 3 red lights if the 360 is working but just until I put in a game?

Shouldn't it be like 1 light or 2 :S

I thought that ones its 3 then it means its dead all around.

A small update...now its completely DEAD!

I tried it this morning again with AC and went along nicely, but right when the loading came were you can control Altair it froze.

I shut the 360 down and then turned it on, and got the red lights again.

But this time its perminent not like before were I can go to the dash board.

Worst piece of junk, and how the sells is increasing with the fact with this huge problem is beyond me.

There is more people sending in their 360s and are in dissapointment than people enjoying it :S

Those who haven't got the red lights must have put a lucky charm above it not to die or something.

I am just glad NG2 won't be out this month or the next, so I can have another 360on the way back (if they haul ass of course).

Oh pity ..... Currently on 2nd replacement console but I havent touched it in a long time ... I really dont want to turn it on again!

The thing is that after I traded in COD4 I played AC once to show it to my other cousin and yeah, after that I didn't touch it until yesterday.

but it doesn't matter if you play it or not, the death of the junk (360) will strike at anytime and mine happened yesterday, it was a fucking ambush.

Not only that, my cousin laughed at me and on my 360 for this happening.

I kept saying to him, PS3 is MUCH better than the PS3, its reliable, better hardware and got cool games if you like whats coming to it.

I bet he agreed, definitely wouldnt argue after yesterday event.

Considering there is more than 1 version of it, yes :P

I called MS right now and I closed my XBL account (they were about to draw money from the account tomorrow, so I closed it today).

And then I talked to one of the staffs about I want to send in one of their junks for repair, so they should be coming this weekend.

Sorry to hear that. I think the newer models are reliable now. If mine 360 breaks I am going to get one of those. Hmm I have had 2 times 3 red rings but it was a year ago and my console works still, I let it cool a bit and it worked again :p Too many games bought for 360 so no I am not going to get PS3 or Wii instead. Heheh I have destroyed more PC hardware than console HW. 2 Ati GPU's and 2 Nvidia GPU's, so both companies are equally bad.

I hope you get working 360 this time!

Just on the topic of broke 360s, im still on my launch console, guess im really lucky huh?

Only had the Red Rings of Death once when the huge AC fell like 5 cm onto the 360 and the console didn't work for like a day, but i only tried once to turn it on.

Other then that its pretty much been fault free, it did freeze on Smackdown vs Raw 2008 the other day, but not really noticed much other stuff, which freaks me out because i know how buggy other Microsoft products are.

I have a launch Xbox 360 aswell.. MFD 10-20-2005, so made well before launch even.. And that's still working fine..

But I have to tell you that I got it last year arround May when my 1st Xbox 360 I bought broke down (MFD 04-01-2006).. They sent me this launch Xbox 360 as a replacement, so I guess it's a refurbished model with improved cooling or something, or I'm also just lucky..

MS gave me a free game (Forza 2) because it took them longer then 2 weeks to replace.. :P

I had similar experience to that, now have a launch refurbished unit also, which to date has been ok.

My JP system seems to be holding up ok so far also.

2nd just red lighted. I wouldn't be so frustrated if they could get it back to me quicker. 3 fucking weeks minimum is absolute bullshit.

Sorry for your lost, Sath. My replacement 360 has been fucking up every since I got it too. It's the shitty ass DVD drive that has to struggle with every single game and give me more "dirty" errors than a Bangkok hooker. MS said they wouldn't replace it for me unless it RROD's. So fuck them too. Not that bad though, since I hardly play the damn thing anymore. Been trying to struggle through AC6 though, but I'm just going to let that go too. Thing can collect dust like my Gamecube for all I care, or I may take Phaethon's advice and just claim it RROD and get it replaced then turn around and sell it to a friend.

Kenshin, if you want to make it RROD, just force it to have one. I don't know how to make it have RROD on purpose, but try, thens end it so you can have a new one, or they fix it along with the dvd drive.

Ah well, I say bring on the DS and DMC4 demos on PS3 soon and I will be fine.
