They say ~7s, I say a 7 for an fps means a crap game.

Well Gamespot gave PD0 a 9.0 -- so it must be great compared to Shadowrun!

Well yeah, pretty much.

Just because there hasn't been a great FPS released since Battlefield 2 doesn't mean we can't enjoy games that are less than great. I'd rather try out Shadowrun than waste my time with half of the games you've mentioned, mostly because I've already played them.

You'd rather do that, I'd rather not :D

And yeah, CSS is a great value on Xbox 360. Totally. Best version of the game yet! It also doesn't have broken hit boxes or anything either. Great game.

Are we forgetting this is also a PC game? And that about the broken hit boxes was a cheap shot considering console shooters have huge hitboxes and auto-aim (not complaining, just sayin)..........

Grift, you managed to quote my post which is after yours. Crazy shit. Ah whatever. Im enjoying the hell outa this game and so are a buttload of people on live. Couldnt care less if reviews dont think its worth the money. I havent read a single review that says the game is bad. Quite the opposite. Most say the gameplay is fun and fresh each game. If they release a few more maps and maybe some more game modes this game will be perfect to me.

Edit - Lebato where did that CSS comment come from ? That game doesnt exist on the 360. Just so you know the hitboxes in shadowrun are not very forgiving as a matter of fact. It's much harder to get a headshot in shadowrun than GOW or Halo. Its so funny in CS when you shoot a guy in the foot and get a headshot. WTF is that ?

And I'd love to shoot a guy in the foot and get a headshot, I'd really love to do that. It hasn't happened to me once, bad luck I guess. I would call that lag though, but whatever, there must be something to it that makes it (probably) the most played MP game out there. One would think if the problem was as serious as you make it sound no one would play the game.

See the problem with this approach to reviewing a game. A seven on the Gamespot scale is "good" -- which means by saying a game is good, essentially to you they're saying it's crap.

Read the text, it's a much better way using a critic.

Eh, the PC version may as well not exist in this case. It will be the greatest flop of them all.. and I guess I was just sayin.. CSS has plenty of its own flaws. Is it a great value? Yeah it came free with my copy of Half Life 2.. can't beat that!

Hopefully the DLC for this game is free. There's really no excuses here. But regardless.. the amount of content and variety only make up so much of what a good game is. Value is another issue.

Just.. no. PD0 is perfect evidence of just how useless scores are. That review was written by one of my favorite critics, and it's horrible. You can only count on them for so much information. Frankly I find the MLG review a lot more interesting.. it makes me want to try the game.

I think this game is a tragedy of development really. They have some good ideas, even good implimentation. I think as far as deep FPS goes, this is one of the better efforts in a long while. But basically being online only with few maps, average graphics, trying to match PC gamers with Console gamers by gimping controls, and misapplying an IP (which upsets said fans) are all big negatives. Toss in the darth of market placement/hype in a year with a ton of hyped FPS it just doesn't have a chance. I was pretty cynicle about this game during development (for a lot of reasons which are showing up in reviews), but it seems they actually have contributed something to the genre in gameplay. But gameplay isn't enough: you need value and market placement as well as initial appeal. And it is lacking all of those at this point which is really too bad. This would be a good $29 Xbox Live downloadable game though...

Oh it happens a lot and its not lag. You took this the wrong way. I wasn't trying to put down CS. Its a fantastic game. I was just wondering why you said CSS on 360 cause that doesnt exist. You will find that a lot of people consider the hit boxes in CSS to be terrible. If this was a dig at shadowruns well I've already mentioned that they are perfectly reasonable. I find Halo's hitboxes to be waaaaay to forgiving. You can often hit a good distance to the left or right of an enemys head.

Maybe this is getting a little heated. I like the game. Lebato doesnt (know yet) :p

I know CSS on Xbox is nowhere to be found, I just thought it fit the comparison because Shadowrun is also on PC and Shadowrun took a lot of things from CSS.

And yeah that video Grift linked to shows some problem with the hit-boxes, a bit too far at times, but I just don't believe you shoot a guy in the foot and get a headshot, that's just too much and nowhere near what that video shows.

Na I know that video isn't showing that. I'm not saying that if you literally get a bot and have it stand still then stop...take careful aim...and shoot him in the foot then you will get a headshot. At times, though, you will be shooting away at a guy and he will jump and your reticle will end up somewhere around his foot-ish region and BAM. Headshot. Its not just the foot though. I was using that as an example. The hit boxes are often just plain messed up. Enough of that though. Way off topic.

Let me just re-establish something about Shadowrun hitboxes. they are not huge hitboxes and the game does not have severe auto-aim. Getting a headshot in this game actually takes a lot of skill. (360 version I'm talking about).

Yea I wasn't trying to suggest that.. just that way that game is designed is a bit.. wacky.

The life and death of FASA. I still hope for the best.. which at this point is skeleton support and hopefully a budding community on Xbox live.

This game is missing something important though, something that makes Dystopia the true cyberpunk FPS.. hacking/decking! Seriously.. wtf?

Sure ok. All I was saying though was that you coming in here and stating that the game is bad wasn't really founded as you haven't played it. Now that I think about it...unless you play football then you can't really make impressions of how fun it was to play in that game. If you play football then of course. You dont play shadowrun so you can't have an impression of how the gameplay is.

I can tell you that game is a big pile of crap and I haven't played the game, and I believe most everyone else can. If I were judging from screenshots, you would have a point, but not now really.

Everything I say is of course my opinion. My impressions are my opinion, there's nothing to be confused about, your previous comments contradicted common sense and it took quite a bit of time for you to get it.

Shadowrun is fun, good for you. I'm sure it is relatively fun, but compared to what else is there in the genre, I consider it bad/crap/one more of the bunch. Over and out as you said.

I'll tell you one thing, watching Shadowrun->playing Sahdowrun or any game makes a big difference. But Shadowrun in particular is just something you have to try before bashing, thats for sure.

It's the same thing? Playing a professional sport and being a spectator is the same as playing a video game and being a.. spectator? all the people I know that actually have the game, said it's at least fun and worth a try. However, they said it wasn't worth the $60 price tag, that's for sure. Which is why most of them rented the game from like Gamefly or some other rental service. I'm probably going to do the same.

Shadowrun to me even LOOKS really fun, and the stories i've read are so amazing :D One dude accidently threw a grenade over 3 opponents, and then used force push to push them over the grenade and got a couple of kills. I think the one and only problem with the game atm is value, but that's cause I haven't played the game.
