Yup its all value, value, value. I hope that this game sells a shit load of copys when the price goes down cause right now I'm having so much fun with it online but there just aint enough people on it.

Games sell the most in their first 2 months and taper off very quickly thereafter. If it doesn't sell well now it won't sell well at all, even at a lower price unless MS did something drastic -- like value packin, game combos, large LIVE promotion, etc... which begs the question: Why no Live demo?

Seriously MS killed this title and the value/reviews only put nails in the coffin commercially. It sounds like what there is solid though.

The fans have spoken. Concerning the graphics of the Halo 3 Beta: "There's so many little effects and things going on that make this game pretty much 2nd only to Gears at the moment."

Well the demo is meant to be coming out on wednesday. I think this game would of benefited in sales if the demo had come out before the games release. The game is extremely fun but the price point is going to turn way to many people off. Hopefully this demo will turn some heads.

The only way that it really though, is if the demo has all the training levels and a few multiplayer maps.

You wonder given how anemic the content is reportedly why Microsoft didn't turn it into a downloadable title like Sony did with Warhawk. Would have made sense, the likely audience weren't going to be those with Core systems.

Hell even do a pack in with a hard drive if that's an issue.

There were many ways this situation could have been retrieved. A cheap access disc and some premium DLC would have gone down much better than $60 for whats there now.

Then I guess with Halo 3 shipping in September there wasn't much time given how long it took FASA to make the maps they do have.

I'll still try it out though.

Yup.. I can actually see the demo working against the final product if they don't do it correctly. This isn't a game that you can just thrust Xbox live gamers into and expect them to get it. Tutorial is a must.

if it has all that then the full retail is almost pointless, they cant give too much to negate the worth of the final product, but too little wont attract any consumers. its a bit iffy. maybe a demo that consisted of almost the full game, or maybe even the full game, but make the demo only last a couple of days or a week. that not only gives the player time to get used to it, but also gives them enough time to like it, and want it.

I'm pretty sure a tutorial and a single level wouldn't negate the value of the full retail product.. if they throw people into this game without instruction and cooperative teammates than people aren't going to get a good impression of their game. Hopefully a single map, a tutorial, and the ability to play against bots is all present in this weeks demo.

Shadowrun being downloadable wouldn't boost sales, not everyone has fast broadbands. And then there's the ones that have only a memory card? Adding an option on downloading it would be good though.

I'm still looking forward to trying it. I've already convinced myself to give this one a solid chance.. I hope the demo they release (tomorrow?) is a good indication of the overall product. They'd be stupid to release a lacking demo for something that's pretty much destined to fall through the cracks.

I can't spend that kind of dough on 9 maps, and missing animations and such.
Just can't do it.

Demo will be out at 2am PDT tomorrow, June 7th. Sounds like it's very stripped down compared to the total package, but at least it has tutorials in tact and should hopefully give people a decent idea of what this game is all about.

I hope party match making is in as well. Playing with your friends is always going to enhance the experience of playing a team shooter, especially one that so heavily relies on team work.

A: We want to give players a good sense of what makes Shadowrun different / fun, but we can't give away everything, of course. The feature set we're offering is limited, but there are no time restrictions on the demo. Here's what you get:

* Training: Chapters 1, 2, and 3
* Solo Match and Public Match (so both bot play and multiplayer)
* One map: Power Station (which means only one game type: Raid)
* Two races: Elf and Human
* Magic: Tree of Life, Resurrect, Gust, and Teleport
* Tech: Glider, Enhanced Vision, and Smartlink
* Weapons: Pistol, SMG, Rifle, Shotgun, Katana, and Sniper Rifle
