I got to 18 in the first beta test and the second area is pretty much more of the same (more forest like I guess), the quests grind in this is worse than WoW IMO, I can't really put my finder on it but I find the questing to be extremely mundane.

Just feels like the standard "go over there, kill 500 rabid dogs, bring back their severed junk and claim reward". Rince and repeat.

Actually, the levelling process is quite different from other mmos. You can choose to go with quest or BAMS.
Quests are divided in orange "story" and yellow. The story ones are required to unlock dungeons chains etc. and are a bit more diverse than the usual mmo stuff. Yellow quests are not mandatory and yes, they're the old go there-collect-bring back story.

But where levelling really shines imo are BAMS (Big Ass Monters).
These are kind of super elite mobs which can take up to 15 minutes to kill if soloed, and give huge amount of xp. Just like in Demon/dark soul bosses, a single error in fighting them can result in your death. Depending on the class you play, they can be a very challenging experience. Adding the fact that I play on a pvp server, I have to say this has been the most engaging pve experience I had in a long time.

Fact is, wether or not TERA will hold up my attention in the long term, I found myself unable to go back to target-based mmos. I still have active subscriptions for Rift and SWTOR, but can't play for more than 10 minutes without thinking that system is dead.

Does it matter? Will a euro key not work for NA? If not, then I would hate to use it and miss the times allotted to play, especially if someone else can get more use from it.

Any idea if it's limited, or what the Euro test times translate to in NA?

Reminds me, i've gotta cancel my preorder. I don't know why i keep trying these MMOs, they are never any fun. Even in large groups the gameplay is never satisfying. I'll just keep on playing League of Legends i guess, still having a blast with that :)

I hear ya'. I gave Tera a final chance this last weekend. I tried all the classes between 2 beta "tests" and found that the game has a great combat mechanic, but it's just too damn arcade-like for my tastes. It also has too high damage numbers making it rather anti-climatic. I also do not have faith in it by the fact that they're removing components which were actually quite interesting; Pet shops, pet tasks, etc.

I'm also not sure how much of the game is relying on just the new car-smell like aspect of the fighting mechanic, and how long it will hold my interests. After all, seeing that the third person style cross hair is certainly nothing new to me, what is it about the end-game content and over-all content that will separate it from other MMOs to keep me paying and playing?

No one seems to have the answer. So, I'm playing it safe and I'm going to assume it will be just like every other MMORPG, only with a new fight style gimmick. Maybe my opinion will change in the future, but as for now it doesn't really have anything going for it that makes my wallet swoon.
