this current status of ps4.5 generation really is disappointing.

So much for the faux rep that those jaguar cpus gave on the last gen, at least the jump from the previous gen, from the beggining way through last-gen was night&day.

Indeed, these crossgen titles always annoyed me. Look at GoW Ragnarok for example, GoW was a tehnical marvel looking that good on base ps4 and on ps5 which is 10 times stronger we get Ragnarok which looks like a DLC.

I hope when Unreal 5 releases we will start getting nextgen only games which base ps4/xbox just can't run.

PS
The SSD speed in PS5 is also overhyped, look at the latest DF video even the slowest gen 4 ssd can run everything.

I mean, surely you don't think that any game released within the first 7 months of a new console launch will really stress the hardware? You DO know how console launches work, right? In the past, it's basically always taken 18-24 months for any true showpieces to ship on new hardware. And that's not factoring in a global pandemic stifling game development or the ballooning costs of game development, which is what makes an extended cross gen period more attractive. Be patient, and look at history and how these things have gone in the past. We've actually seen more high profile, high polish next gen exclusive titles over this first (almost) year of this new gen than we have any previous gen. No other console launch time frame has matched the release slate of Astro, Miles, Demon's Souls, Ratchet, Returnal. PS4 launched with Knack and Killzone and that was basically it for 18 months...

Eh that doesn't mean that the PS5 SSD is overhyped...just means it can deliver bigger scenes than what we saw in R&C. It is good that it is not maxed, not bad!

Also, saying GoW Ragnarok looks like DLC is silly. Visually it is only a refinement of the first, sure. It still looks great, but that is a bit disappointing. Although having known that for a while tempered expectations. On the other hand, the game looks to be easily as much a sequel in terms of content as something like GoW5. I expect the game itself to be pretty amazing.
