2K Games and Gearbox Software today officially announced that the PC release of Duke Nukem Forever will incorporate Steamworks.

What does this mean for you?

It means that regardless of where or how you buy Duke Nukem Forever on PC, your purchase will be tied to your Steam account, ensuring that you'll always be able to install a copy of the game even if you lose your disc.

In traditional GFWL Marketplace fashion, they can't match the price of Batman on Steam, even with a sale.

I'm guessing this is because they are so impoverished.

Bioshock and Bioshock 2 are five bucks each on Steam, as is Magicka.
In fact you can get the Magicka "complete" (right, like they are done with it), for 8 bucks, with the Vietnam expansion thingy.

More 2k sales are coming, so I might skip on Bioshock 2.
Magicka looks really cool though; I might go for it.

yeah, I've heard that sentiment echoing through the tubes for a while. At best it was more of the same, not a true sequel?
I'll put that 5 bucks toward Bioshock 3.

It is more of the same I guess but it's lacking the same brilliant atmosphere. It has no memorable moments whereas the first game had them in spades.

I was just looking through the list of 2k games on Steam, and the only other game I'd really be interested in is Borderlands, which probably won't end up on special.
Everything else looks, um, boring.

Oh well, I guess I'll get Magicka, and maybe Ion Assault even though it's not on sale.
I'm in a "let's buy games and probably never play them" mood

We had EA week and no Mirror's Edge on Steam. I already have the 360 version, but I'd buy the PCversion too ifit was €5 or less. I bought Men of War though, hopefully it turns out OK.

Yeah from the few vids I've seen it's got a pretty elaborate crafting system and a lot of different enemies!
Also the fact that NPC's walk around and start to hang around your house/castle to help you or sell you stuff seems like a nice addition!

Will keep a close eye on this one.

I have a question wrt to mid-week Steam sales? Is Tropico 3 better than Tropico 1& in terms of gameplay? I heard a lot of good things about T1 back in the day and would like to play some old school 2D sim/tycoon, but if T3 s muchbetter thanI'll get that one.

Yeah played some with Iso yesterday, was actually pretty fun IMO.
It's nice that your character is persistent over different worlds even in multiplayer.
Crafting system is also much more interesting than in Minecraft. Lots of different stuff to craft, and there are dungeons/treasures in the world which seems like a nice addition.

I've tried 2 of them, Champions Online and Spiral Knights. I got bored of CO after about 2 minutes so uninstalled it, but Spiral Knights seems pretty cool.

None of the ones on offer are particularly great, but they're free so can't really complain. :P

I'm hoping for more in the near future. Back to Killing Floor and Terraria for now!
