It's kind of odd I started this gen off pretty much only interested in 360 and I'm going into the next one only interested in PS4.

I don't think there is anything at this point that MS could do to sell me on their next box, besides a Blue Dragon 2 announcement and we all know that's not guna happen. (no OP its not lol)

Real-Time weapon change wasn't possible on the 360 and PS3, but perhaps that rare unicorn of gaming bliss will be achievable with the new consoles haha. :P

They're sending a message. I count 9 people in that room. Radeon has 6 letters, AMD has 3, combine the two, it gives you 9. New xbox to come with Windows 9 and skip the Radeon 7000 and 8000 class gpus altogether, opting instead for a Radeon HD 9970 GPU :)

Well, if this is accurate, and vgleaks has been pretty damn accurate thus far, then it means the people that were saying Durango's CPU was more beefed up compared to typical Jaguar cores and twice as strong as the PS4's CPU were really full of shit.

What I find most odd now is those specific group of people that have been pretty accurate thus far on most of the released information, have been much more accurate about the PS4's specs than they all were about what was inside Durango. For example, they absolutely nailed the PS4's memory bandwidth going from 192GB/s down to 176GB/s.

The part that jumps out at me the most is this part.

The cores do not support XOP, AVX2, or FMA3/4 (fused multiply-add).

Jaguar, to my knowledge, was never stated to support AVX2 anywhere, except on forums like beyond3d and neogaf, and all of a sudden lack of support for something that wasn't expected to be in jaguar in the first place now shows up in a vgleaks article? Why would an official MS document mention lack of support for something that wasn't supposed to be supported in the first place? Jaguar is a solid processor for these two consoles, but suddenly I'm a lot more suspicious of the Durango leaks. This made the official reveal much harder to wait for. :)

These are the same posters on both gaf and beyond3d that have been revealing accurate info for both machines since last year. I pretty much specifically pointed out every single time that the info was coming from those same people, so you'll find it fairly difficult to somehow suggest it came directly from me. Simply relaying information. No more, no less.

They were the first to give accurate ESRAM size and bandwidth, as well as bandwidth for the main memory for Durango.
They were the first to tell people that there were 4 data move engines on Durango.

They were the first to mention Durango having 8GB of DDR3 and the PS4 using 4GDDR5. Even some first parties didn't see the 8GB upgrade coming.
they were the first to mention 8 core Jaguar cpus at 1.6GHZ.

I could go on, but no need. They have been saying that Durango's CPU had extra modifications that gave it almost double the performance of the PS4 cpu.

Well, if you read my post, I'm simply pointing out that those same sources have been extremely reliable before, and so there was reason to believe them when they said something, or reason to treat rumors coming from them as potentially truthful. The fact that they were so wrong about this proves what many suspected all along, that they weren't being entirely honest about the extent of what they said they knew. They had simply managed to glean pieces of accurate information from people who had access to these documents, but to the extent that they had reliable sources beyond these documents? Yea, that was bs all along. Grift's not so subtle implication was basically that there were no sources saying this, and that it was something I made up, since I've been saying it on here, but each time I said it, I was careful to point out that it came from the same sources that had been right thus far.

I also often caveated the information with "supposedly" or "apparently", or in any other number of ways, implying that I, too, had a feeling that it might not be entirely true.

And, no, they aren't all saying the cpu has no extra features now (at least not that I saw), some, if not all, have more or less simply gone into hiding, because there's no way to explain why they were so far off. Then again, if come Microsoft's official reveal they are vindicated, then so be it, but somehow I doubt that. :P

That's where all this info comes from, some London conference that Microsoft held on Durango, the one where a Crytek dev accidentally confirmed Durango's existence, calling it two computers in one or something to that effect. However, sites have separately said they had sources confirm the rumored specs to them as more or less accurate, so unless something has changed, similar to how Sony caught people off guard with 8GB of GDDR5, then these are the specs, which I think are fine.

Definitely, but I wouldn't expect them to admit it. They even recently claimed that their info is from 2013, but then almost nobody is believing that. Everybody firmly believes they are still reading info provided to them through that guy that was busted in Australia.

Still, there was a recent edge where apparently a current dev was interviewed and he said the specs are accurate and readily admitted the ps4 is more powerful, but that he believes it's more or less 360 and PS3 again in terms of power difference, so I guess, barring some surprise, the specs are indeed accurate.

Yes, Black it is. Everything VG Leaks has been "revealing" IS 11 months old now. Everything from the GPU, the CPU, the multiple display planes.......all of it.

There honestly hasn't been any NEW or GENUINE pieces of information about Microsoft's console that date past Feb 2012.

People are saying the FEB 2012 document is titled "Graphics on Durango." It's said to contain a direct comparison to the 360 GPU and Durango's GPU. and the 360 GPU, according to Microsoft estimate, is 53% efficient, whereas Durango's is 100% efficient.
