Damn, Drift. There are so many things to unpack in your statement. I will start with the most shocking and vile one: You didn't play Doom (2016) through all these years!?! Mind blown... That's the best FPS of the 2010's. It might even be the best FPS of all time, has so much depth to everything that's hard to explain. With that absolutely unbiased "fact" out of the way.

I also played Doom (2016) with a controller, though I used a mix of both controller + mouse - much better than keyboard + mouse. But I have played countless FPS with a controller and they work just fine. Almost all games are made with consoles as the main target, so they are made to work exceptionally well with controllers.

Lastly, but not least, during Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) 2020, Byte Me - an extremely great and speedrunner, insanely knowledgeable and absolutely obsessed with Doom (2016) - said that there was this insane speedrunner that broke records while playing Doom (2016) with a controller. He also said that "anyone thinking playing a FPS on PC with a controller is bad, that guy would obliterate their ass." Paraphrasing, but you get the point.

Then there's many pro e-sports players using controllers, so you don't need to explain that you're using a controller. You don't need to prove anything to anyone. Play how you wanna play. Life's too short to be doing what others want you to do. If they don't like it, fuck them.

It's a really, truly great run. Byte Me, the couch, the crowd, the announcer and the donors were absolutely great and it was hillarious as hell, truly, truly hillarious. It got to the point that Byte Me stopped to put his head in the keyboard and just couldn't play for a minute or more. They explain the strategies and how the systems, moves and everything works. It's a truly magical speedrun. Probably the best in AGDQ's history. Fucking fantastic!

does this mean you didn't have the time to play or just didn't like the game because if its the latter I'm interested to know why. I played it on both PC and PS4 and absolutely loved every bit of it. I actually have it installed since 2016 and jump in whenever I want to take the edge off from time to time.
