it's the devkit with it's fancy little display (for fps or hip dolphin animations) ... which will NOT make it into the retail version unfortunately... I'd like a console with a fps display to be honest :)

You want to see a numbers bounce around from 15-30? :D

I think they leave features like these off of consoles because it wouldn't make some consumers happy to stare at performance metrics. Especially if they're not always great.

Yeah, but maybe it would just turn out the other way - devs trying more hard to keep a consistent framerate of 30 or 60, because people actually CAN see it first eye :)

it would look tacky as hell, and you'd just be staring at the number 30 a lot. Regular consumers would have no idea what they're looking at and think its broken.

It's 4K.. those small and compressed screens probably don't do the difference any justice :D

How does Madden run on PS4 Pro? Is it native 4K?

I don't have context or meaning. Better quality screens look pretty good.

Not that i'm aware. It's the only sports game that never got an update. I think fifa, nba etc all run 4k native, but they typically always do. They're not really pushing too much visually. I'm not much of a sports game guy though so i could be wrong.

Madden games havent impressed visually in more than a decade, they all kind of look the same. Higher resolution will help, but its the shit animations that really kill the visuals.

I really thought it would be $399, I feel like they had a real opportunity. I guess it is really meant for the premium buyers out there.

Madden hasn't been on this level because of lazy-ness, not because of hardware

Just look at any 2K basketball game for instance. They've been pulling off fabrics and player models like this for years

Microsoft had a solid conference, but it wasn't outstanding - Scorpio is amazing as expected (except for the name), but the lack of real new AAA IP's is a letdown. What was the 343i surprise? Not a single word about Halo 5 patch on Xbox One X was also weird...

499.- was within expectations and is a good price, especially for that hardware.

The problem lies in their 1st party studios. They have a Halo team, a Gears team, 2 Forza teams, and then Rare. That leaves precisely 0 teams to develop new IP outside of Rare (who can only do so much). Until we hear about Microsoft forming/buying new studios then we likely won't be getting any new 1st party IP. Its going to be Halo, Gears, Forza, Rare games and 3rd party deals. I expect that if Spencer is serious about investing in new IP, we'll be hearing news of new studios soon and the fruits of that won't show up until at least next years E3, likely 2 years.
