Blasphemous 2 is a sequel fans have been waiting since 2019 and from what we've been able to play, it's a very solid second attempt at a 2D Soulsgame with a more obvious Metroidvania flavor than in the first episode. From what we remember of it, there seems to be a lot more freedom in terms of exploration, though some areas still require to unlock some necessary abilities to reach them. When you start this new adventure, you now have the choice between three weapons, though you'll eventually own them all after finding them in the different locations you'll go through. Since you have more freedom, it means that you can reach the first boss with all three weapons, with two or even with only one should you choose to follow the most logical path. It feels a bit like Elden Ring in a way, as when hitting a wall in terms of difficulty, you can find other things to do in order to improve your skills, gain martyr points to upgrade your weapons or find new prayers (magic spells) or religious gear to equip to make your life easier. All in all, it's still rather close to the first game so if you enjoyed it back then, there's no reason to hesitate.
