As surprising as it may seem, not all games released in Early Access are roguelikes or survival games; there are also a few original propositions, like Dead as Disco. As its name doesn’t necessarily suggest, this title is a musical beat ’em up where the main character fights to the beat of the songs playing in the background, set in environments that are as strange as they are colorful. The game world is clearly crazy in the good sense of the term, the musical styles are varied, and the polished animations and combat system—which is reminiscent of the Batman Arkham series—are easy to pick up. That doesn’t mean the challenge isn’t there, though, and to make it through the few levels available in this Early Access release, you’ll need a bit of training and practice.
