Rockfish Games' space looter shooter Everspace 2 is available on Steam Early Access and GOG Games in Development for $39.99. The early build features more than 25 hours of gameplay from the first two star systems with full English voice acting for the first 12 hours of the story campaign.

It's been a while since we were sent the build of Everspace 2 offered to the game's backers, so after giving the alpha build a try during the summer, we decided to show you what the current closed beta looks like. As you will see (and hear), the voices are still generated automatically in this version, but they will obviously be replaced by real actors when the time comes. Hopefully it will be soon enough as the game can be pretty chatty. That being said, the point of this early version is to see how the game plays and to try out the missions set on the surface of some of the local planets. So far, we have enjoyed our time with the game, so we're eager to see more. The good news is that we haven't seen everything the beta has to offer, so we intend to keep playing as much as we can. The closed alpha of Everspace 2 is kicking off today on Steam and it gives backers a first taste of the content from the Early Access build planned for December. For about 10 hours of gameplay, the alpha offers action on planetary locations (troposphere and underground), new missions, ships, characters, the all-new pilot and companion perk system and more. The full game for PC, PS4 and Xbox One is scheduled to launch Q1 2022.

After having successully passed the test of another Kickstarter, Everspace 2 offered the backers a nice present in the form of a prototype. With more than 60% reached from their Kickstarter campaign's goal, Rockfish Games put an update about Everspace 2 in the form of two Vlogs where the developers detail how the story will continue with better cinematics and the extensive choice of player ships with a broad range of customizatio and class-based playstyles.

The open world space shooter Everspace 2 might not be coming before late 2021 but it already has a playable build that premiered at Gamescom and is now at PAX West. Here is in great quality the developers' gameplay walkthrough that debuted at the Cologne's event.

At Gamescom Opening Night Live event, Rockfish games announced the sequel to its great and successful space shooter. Everspace 2 is an open world title with classic RPG elements and persistent player progression. A Kickstarter campaign will launch in early September for additional funding.
