PC PS2 Xbox

FlatOut has been on my wanted list since it was first announced about 18 months ago. A racing game with the excellent Havok physics engine seemed like a very good idea, especially since the graphics seemed very nice. Did we get what was promised ? I guess so, but it could have been so much more.

PC PS2 Xbox

Bugbear just released this new trailer of FlatOut, showcasing the ragdoll driver being ejected from the car windshield and what you can do with him. I can't stop thinking this is at least a bit wrong.

PC PS2 Xbox

Bugbear just released these 10 images from the Xbox version of FlatOut, and 3D screens of the game showcasing the very impressive physics engine.

The weird stock-car game from Bugbear Entertainment show it in a new video grabbed in the EGN, as usual. The game is quite funny to play, and even if the landscapes are poor, the car's deformations are very impressive and detailed. To make it short, Flat-Out will surely be a cool little game that can be pretty funny with some dudes to play with.

PC PS2 Xbox

Bugbear just released these 20 images (PC version) and the final trailer of their racing/stock car game Flat Out. It seems very well done, but the ejected driver thing is really just plain weird if not just plain wrong.

PC PS2 Xbox

Here are 35 high resolution images of the very promising BugBear racing game Flat Out. Playable on xbox live with 8 players, it could be a very pleasant surprise !

MrWhite At least for most gamers. Similar to when everything went to pci-e (18 Hours ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite I think we could be seeing a dramatic shift in PC hardware where it'll be essential to own both an SSD and a next gen card with the api's to use them. That also would probably require new motherboards (18 Hours ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite If a game is built from the ground up to take advantage of that, though... (18 Hours ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite I think it'll be down to next gen engines making use of it where applicable. So, basically, if a game allows it, hardware permitting, it'll be used. (18 Hours ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite @toelessfoot: Yeah, that's the thing, isn't it? PC's are a bit too much of an open platform hardware wise for it to be standard implementation. (18 Hours ago)

  • toelessfoot

toelessfoot @MrWhite: How long until we see that kind of thing in PCs do you think? I guess consoles are more future proof than a current PC in that regard. (18 Hours ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite new api's that talk to gpu and ssd's are the exciting thing there. That'll be present in both console and PC, eventually. (20 Hours ago)
