This is a very "better late than never" video, but it's as fast as we could do since the game didn't arrive until yesterday. It is the First 10 Minutes of The Lord of the Rings: Conquest, published by EA and developed by Pandemic. The game is very much based around multiplayer, but since the demo covers that this video shows the first single-player level. It wouldn't be fair putting my impressions here since I've spent such a limited time with it, but feel as always free to share yours in the comments.

Pandemic is on a roll ! Here comes the first trailer - entirely in-engine - of Lord of the Rings: Conquest. Developed by the creators of the Star Wars Battlefront series, Conquest should offer the same type of gameplay in Middle-Earth. From what we see, it looks like we'll be able to play as Ents, or even Balrogs. Sounds good ! The game is planned to be released this fall on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

EA today announced Lord of the Rings: Conquest, from the same team at Pandemic Studios that did the Star Wars: Battlefront series. I loved those games and it's sad to see them letting go of that universe, but it will be interesting to see how they will make this work based on LOTR.
