Today, SQUARE ENIX® announced that Marvel’s Avengers Expansion: Black Panther – War for Wakanda is now available as a free update to all owners of the core game. In addition to adding Black Panther, the ninth playable Super Hero for the game, the War for Wakanda Expansion also brings with it two new villains, a brand-new environment to explore, new enemies, the Birnin Zana Outpost, new solo or multiplayer Drop Zone and Threat Sector missions and more, adding the most content to Marvel’s Avengers since the game’s launch.

Marvel's Avengers was finally updated for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S but the new free DLC focused on Hawkeye was also released to give players a good reason to go bac to the game. We do not have video content for Future Imperfect as we can't say the gameplay motivates us to continue the adventure, but here's the famous Golden Gate Bridge sequence on Xbox Series with new water effects (among other things) in higher framerate mode and another video showcasing the quality mode.
[bNote: Don't expect the YouTube versions anytime soon, we're still waiting on the 4K versions of the Bethesda videos we prepared yesterday and have had to put on hold for more than 24 hours because some are still unavailable in 4K. It wouldn't be a problem if our streams weren't down obviously...

During 45 minutes, Square Enix presented us a lot of things and we were able to discover several game trailers like Outriders, Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy, Marvel's Avengers, Balan Wonderworld, Life is Strange: True Colors or Forspoken (formerly Project Athia).

We have been playing Marvel's Avengers since yesterday and we keep focusing on the main storyline in single player but we hope to be able to test the multiplayer component of the game soon. Today's we're showing you the next part of Kamala Khan's quest to find the resistance, still on Xbox One X in 4K mode.

Apart from those who purchased the most expensive editions of Marvel's Avengers, who can already play it, Crystal Dynamics' game will only be available to all on September 4. We've had access to the full game since this morning so we've spent most of our day playing it, but it's too soon to tell you if it's worth putting your money down. The beta didn't include many sequences starring Kamala Khan so it was nice to be able to discover new things as soon as we started the adventure. We should have plenty of Xbox One X videos to share in the upcoming days, but we'll start with the introduction. The first 2 videos introduce the character of Kamala Khan, who is about to meet her heroes, while the last one is a sort of collection of highlights taken from the now famous Golden Gate Bridge mission. All the footage we captured was recorded in 4K mode.

Here is the launch trailer of Marvel's Avengers ahead of its release next week on PC, PS4 and Xbox One and at a later date on PS5 and Series X.

Marvel's Avengers will be officially released very soon now so Square-Enix and Crystal Dynamics are giving everyone a chance to try the game on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The content of the beta is pretty generous so the best way to find out if this title is for you is to give it a go. Unsurprisingly, it won't win any awards when it comes to the visuals, even aside from the generic character models. Performance on PC is really terrible in 4K with an RTX 2080 Ti but the drops are almost non existent in 1440p. We're not sure if things have improved since the closed beta, but it's likely PC players won't be too happy with the port as it stands now. As for gameplay itself, it can be fun despite the messy combats and the impression that traversal sometimes is on autopilot. It's hard to know if the combat system will make it interesting enough to make people want to keep playing for the months to come, we have reasonable doubts about that, but we'll see when the final product ships in early September.

Marvel's Avengers beta was available during 2 days exclusively on PS4 this weekend, and we captured two 4K videos in "performance" mode on PS4 Pro.
