Since we received MOUSE: P.I. For Hire rather late, we weren’t able to cover it when it first came out, which is a real shame because Fumi Games’ title turns out to be a lot of fun. While we were initially a bit disappointed by the feel of the gunfights, the experience improves over time, and the character’s mobility—the right stick lets you dash, you unlock a double jump, then the ability to hover/fly using your tail, etc.—gives this title a pretty enjoyable boomer shooter vibe. Add to that the excellent visuals, the superb film noir atmosphere, the soundtrack, and the voice acting and you'll start to understand why we quickly got hooked. A very pleasant surprise that we highly recommend.
