GSY Video PS5 Xbox Series X PC

As far as we know, Need for Speed Unbound hasn't managed to get a lot of attention since its release but it is a pretty fun racing game with a nice Criterion vibe. The Xbox Series X version is a bit less smooth than the one on Playstation 5 as it targets 4K a lot more while resolution remains around 1800p on Sony's console. Needless to say that you won't notice if you own a VRR display.

We haven't received our copy of Need for Speed Unbound but since a trial version is available on EA Play and Game Pass Ultimate, we have been able to record the first 15 minutes of the story mode on PC. We've also had a bit of time to see the Xbox Series X version and it looks just as good, with realistic lighting and pretty detailed cars. As far as we could see, framerate is also smooth on console and as it seems to play like a Criterion game, it could very well be a fun experience provided you don't mind the general atmosphere.

December will be a bit busier than usual with the release of several games and Need for Speed Unbound is one of them. Electronic Arts posted a brand new video of this new episode on YouTube so in case you didn't know, here it is now.

Need for Speed Unbound has been announced very recently but it will be available very soon. This new episode is trying a new visual approach but its atmosphere seems to lean a bit on the "underground" side. Since Criterion is behind the project, let's hope it will allow the series to shine again with this new game.
