We were eagerly waiting for Somerville ever since it was first shown during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase of June 2021 but the game has sadly disappointed us. Visually, it looks great and the way some of the sequences are staged is really great, but navigating through the environments can be a bit cumbersome (and it's way too slow too) and the game lacks some truly memorable moments. It's not bad, but we found it average, which comes as a disappointment for us as we were hoping for more. Puzzles are ok but they mainly rely on two mechanics that have to do with light and by the end, it gets a bit old as gameplay doesn't bring anything new to the table. The fact that the game will be available on Game Pass at launch is a good thing though, as everyone can give it a try for no additional cost, and if you don't get your hopes too high, we're sure you can have a good time anyway as the game isn't very long (three to six hours is what the studio announced but expect it to be around three to four).
