As we like to surprise you once in a while, we have some video coverage you may not have expected from us before today. SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated comes out today on Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC and we have recorded the first 30 minutes of the game on Xbox One X. In case you don't know, this is a remaster of the PS2/XBox/Gamecube platformer originally released in 2003, but from what we've seen it's apretty solid remaster overall. Framerate isn't always silky smooth at 60 fps but it is most of the time and even the graphics have been improved over the original. Considering the look of the cartoon, it still hols up well enough to be engaging if you're a fan of the famous characters by Nickelodeon. Gameplay-wise, the original game was clearly inspired by all the games Rare had developed up until then, but it still works if you don't mind the lack of new ideas and you're longing for a return to such a formula.
