Submerged: Hidden Depths is the sequel to Submerged, a game which did not particularly convince us back in 2015. This new episode seems much more engaging from what we've seen, though it still more or less relies on the same approach. Your task is to explore the ruins of an ancient city which was flooded so you can get them rid of a sort of black plant. Just like in the first game, the platforming aspect is the main feature here, though you'll also have to activate levers and take the seeds of each location back to where they belong in order to purify the area. Even though the animations are still a bit stiff, this sequel looks really charming with its colorful looks, but there are still a few performance issues on the PC build we've played. They are most certainly due to the streaming of the world as they only occur when using the boat. Apart from that, the game is very pleasant to play and it provides a peaceful experience. Be warned that it's not meant to be challenging though. Inside, you will find a video of the first 50 minutes of the adventure, which should give you a good idea of what to expect. Hidden Depths will come out on PC and consoles on March 10.
