GSY Video PS5

The Medium is coming to PlayStation 5 on September 3rd and you can discover the first 20 minutes of the game in 4K on Sony's console. When it was released at the beginning of the year on Xbox and PC, we generally liked the game of the Bloober Team even if everything was not perfect, and our opinion has not changed today.

Bloober Team showcases key elements of its psychological horror game in a new trailer of The Medium as the game will launch on PS5 on September 3rd after its debut at the beginning of the year on PC and Xbox Series consoles.

The Medium is probably not the Xbox Series X exclusive that made PS5 owners regret not getting Microsoft's latest console, but it still delivered a pretty solid horrific experience to those who didn't mind it old school approach. Bloober Team recently announced that the game was coming to PS5, as proven by the following video.

Although Bloober Team hasn't released any information about it, a patch came out today for The Medium. You need to download about 4 GB on Xbox and 14 or so on PC. We can't say we have seen obvious differences or improvements so far, but we nevertheless recorded a new video showcasing one of the game's many atmospheric sequences.

The Medium will be released tomorrow but we were sent an early review codes a couple of days ago. The timing was too short for us to write a full review, or even to translate our (French) verdict on the game, but at least we were able to complete it in one day so we can at least tell you that we enjoyed our time playing it despite some technical issues (mostly performance-wise) and a few outdated game design choices (controls may be a tribute to the first RE but they can be awkward at times). Inside, you will find some videos of the game on Series X and on PC, but don't be surprised to see we had to lock the game at 30 fps despite using our good old RTX 2080 Ti. Even like that, framerate sill wasn't always smooth in all circumstances. It's more or less the same on console obviously. That being said, considering the slow pace of the game, which leans more on a modern point-and-click adventure approach than the Silent Hill series. Expect some exploration with a bit of stealth, some simple puzzles and a few pretty effective chase sequences to raise your stress level.

Before Resident Evil Village, we should be granted a good amount of virtual fear thanks to The Medium, the game by Bloober Team which will come out exclusively on PC and Xbox (Series X/S) next week. Here's is a new trailer in 4K.
Update: 9 Uncanny Facts video added.

Here is the extended gameplay footage of The Medium in good quality. Release a few days ago, the video gives a good glimpse at what to expect from the real world and the spirit world in that haunted hotel resort. We're also adding the live action trailer. Bloober Team will launch the game in 10 days.
Update: RTX trailer added.

The latest trailer of Bloober Team's psychological horror The Medium gives a glimpse at The Maw, the Troy Baker-voiced nightmarish entity and main antagonist. The video also shows Sadness, the mysterious masked girl from the abandoned Niwa Hotel that Marianne meets during her dark journey. The game is still expected to launch during Holiday 2020, pre-orders are currently at a 10% discount.
