Polish studio Telepaths' Tree have revealed Inner Chains, an Unreal Engine 4-powered FPS horror game set in a dark, mystical and biomechanical world. Earth is not what it used to be, leaving nature and technology in symbiosis. Players will have to fight for survival and the discovery of secrets from this surreal world. More details, first screens and a short teaser inside.

The independent Polish studio – Telepaths’ Tree is finally ready to officially announce Inner Chains – the FPS horror PC game running on Unreal Engine 4, that will throw gamers into a graphically stunning, dangerous and mysterious world. The world that’s unlike anything they’ve seen before.

September 2nd, Warsaw, Poland

After teasing the game a couple of days ago via their social media channels, which resulted in tons of speculations about the nature of the project, Telepaths’ Tree is now ready to share some more details about their upcoming title. Inner Chains – the game the team has been working on for the past couple of months, will be a FPS horror embedded in an unprecedented surreal world. Coming to PC and fueled by Unreal Engine 4, Inner Chains will offer gamers a unique opportunity to find themselves in a world that no longer resembles the one they’ve known. The world that is hunting them and where they’re only a small part of it, trying to unravel its mysteries.

Earth. Distant future. Several million years have passed and the planet is no longer what it used to be. Nature by evolution, striving for excellence and adapting to the prevailing conditions began to resemble technology, thus creating biomechanical shapes and mechanisms. Technology itself possessing artificial intelligence after the fall of humanity also tried to adapt to the same conditions. As a result a very strong symbiosis between technology and nature had been established and since then, they have evolved together. In this world, it is not entirely clear what is organic and what is not.

After millions of years of change the human being reappears, but its civilization development stopped at the equivalent of our medieval times. People have the technology, but without much awareness of what it is and how it works. For them this is a natural environment, so they take the advantage of what the world gives them. Some social mechanisms though that have always accompanied man, such as faith, oppression and manipulation, are still present.

Inner Chains is a game where players will get a chance to get to know the world and themselves. They’ll be fighting for their own life and survival to soon discover the secret revealing mechanisms, that guide the rulers of their part of this dark and mystical world.

"By throwing gamers into this dark and mysterious universe, we wanted to make them feel a bit lost at the beginning. But in the same time to encourage them to discover its secrets, so soon enough they learn how to use the environment against their enemies" – said Tomasz Strzałkowski, CEO. "Our approach when designing the levels was to always give players more than just one way to achieve their goal. We didn’t want to lead them by the hand, as the freedom of how you handle the situation was one of our top priorities. So instead we’ve implemented a system of clues and hints, that will help gamers find the right solution. But how they’ll face this or other opponent or the hostile place, depends entirely on them" – Strzałkowski added.

While wandering from forgotten, mountain ruins, through a dangerous forest where flora and fauna become mortal enemies, to the great temples built by a mysterious caste, whose existence and objectives hide many secrets – players will reveal Inner Chains story carved in those places and use it to fight their enemies.

Maybe it's because i've been gaming since the NES but wtf are your standards like if this looks bad to you? What's wrong with the textures?

Love the art in this game concept, seams there is a lot of game talent in eastern Europe.
@marklola25810 - I think people expect to much from textures in games, really good texture mean massive files especially for a big game also I suspect there is an exponential burden on the hardware, but from what I hear storage is set to become much bigger and faster and that should allow for multi 100 gigabyte games, which will allow for much better textures and better LOD loading http://newsroom.intel.com/community/intel_newsroom... and http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-33675734 .
@Megido - NES - That recent, I started off with the Atari 2600 http://www.atariage.com/2600/ .

Looking really good. I'm a little tired though of seeing fps horror games. I've been keeping an eye out for some good 3rd person survival horror with gunplay.

Is this the same Tomasz Strzałkowski that does amazing dark beauty art like here? https://www.google.com/search?q=Tomasz+Strza%C5%82... Only the first concept art looks like his style. Which is awesome.

Maybe your standards are too high. You don't need a new game to do that for you. I can play all but the latest generation of console games through emulators on my comp that actually make the game look better than the original. Imagine that.

Also (since I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not), but are you referring to games having to look good in order for you to even play them on PC? Or having a game be good in order to play it on PC? Because the former is quite backwards in thinking and fucking stupid.
