The demo of Rainbow Six Vegas is available since a few hours on the Marketplace, except in the US and Canada (some exclusivity deal with OXM I'd say). And since it's the first playable Unreal Engine 3 powered game I HAD to do a video! One small thing, I kept the ending just as a lesson not to play stupidly like I did :)
Update: 720p version online.

Commented on 2006-10-24 01:11:02 In reply to INDIGOI think it's fair to compare this game to Gears in a lot of ways really. Same kind of 3rd person cover system, blind firing, same graphics engine... They are probably more alike than they are different.

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't like RS games. I played through the demo and don't really feel the urge to ever play it again.
It's fun. But I don't find it that fun. Please don't burn me at the internet-stake.

Commented on 2006-10-24 08:50:58and no jaggies??? its the UE3 so no AA = LOTS of jaggies.
Commented on 2006-10-24 09:38:08Do you get Jaggies?
What resolution do you use?
VGA or Component cables?
Using CRT,LCD,DLP? HDTV or Monitor or ?
I hope its not stupid developer error like PSU - run 1280x1024 and PSU demo was rendering to 4:3 rez.. but at horrid resolution, like not even 640x480, and scaling it up (not even smooth scaling, just plain old big pixel scaling). 1280x720 was (relatively) beautiful however, realy 1280x720 pixels.
Commented on 2006-10-24 09:44:31the framerate started out as playable, but then near the end it gets really bad. unshippable. but they shipped those tanker/boat levels in double agent, so i wouldnt doubt ubi shipping vegas with a framerate this bad.
mark of epic games said that none of the UE3 games will look as good as gears since they werent made from the ground up on final code like gears was. or something. this demo looks great, but future UE3 games, after gears, should look even better.

VGA
17" CRT PC Monitor
I stopped playing at the first snaky cam use, and so far i have not spotted too many passages with heavy framedrops, but i m playing a lot with the night vision, and that mode sure is less gpu-heavy
I enjoyed playing that demo, that s the good thing about them, demos let you experience before buying :)

Commented on 2006-10-24 12:35:32i have 40" hdmi lcd tv,with 5.1 surround and i was blown away by how good this demo was,the graphics where awesome, atmosphere was awesome and the team AI i thought was spot on,didnt see anystanding about after orders,i rerally felt like i was there.
the new cover system with the left trigger is the best i have ever seen in any game, makes it so smooth when im sending teamamtes one side and im covering them.
i cant wait for this release
Commented on 2006-10-24 13:19:20Motion blurr is way over the top and the framerate is the usual 360 affair but hs horrible FPS dipps when abit of AI, smoke effect take place.
(I give up on hope of having detailed, supersmooth 60fps FPS games on 360 anyway, it aint gonna happen.)
Not bad, but nothing new either. demo gets 7/10 for me.

Commented on 2006-10-24 16:47:16becuase the game is not as sharp looking as GRAW.
Playing on 42 plasma HD-Ready
Commented on 2006-10-24 17:11:30Unreal Engine 3 does NOT support Antialiasing. SO HOW are you supposed to have no jaggies on your HDTV? Yeah impossible...
And for the framerate: so you have no slowdowns when the bell is falling down or at the end of the demo? well... you know what I mean
