Xbox 360

Square-Enix released these 30 images, some new some old, of Infinite Undiscovery. Looking promising, as usual.

Maybe its just different armor, its about time we saw real time armor changes in RPG's, weapons isn't enough IMO.

Although at lvl 3 its a bit suspicious and the fact that no othe characters have different armor you are probably right.

Nobody is forcing you to download it anyway.
That's definitely not Aya. It's an enemy archer.

You can see that very same archer here as well.

Looks darn good, as usual. And IMO Microsoft can and they should spam JRPGs as much they want, I don't complain, because it is my favorite genre. :)

Wow, some people here have difficulties reading opinions.

Here:

Blue Dragon
Eternal Sonata
Lost Oddysey
Star Ocean
Tales of Vesperia
Infinite Undescovery
Last Remnant

These all classify under the [Same Shit] category. I understand the Xbox is six feet under in Japan but c'mon the f**k on.

And finally, MS left half of their employees without pay for two months to buy off the Final Fantasy port - which is delaying the already playable primary version until said port is done.

I'm sorry but it's true. They're going out of their way to do what the PS2 partly did seven years ago, because apparently they're dead convinced that that is the blueprint for market dominance. Except they forgot about variety.

All this repetitiveness in JRPGs just doesn't appeal to me. =/

I'm not a huge JRPG fan, but I'm really tired of seeing so much hate directed towards the game. Are the PS3 fanboys so jealous that the 360 is getting so many RPG's now?

IMO, the graphics look great. Not the best in the world, but most of those complaining about them, once again seem to be ignoring the fact it features a massive, real time, dynamic world.

To start with, since when is 360's main genre JRPG? I guess people are just so shocked to see a handful of games from this genre on an Xbox console that they are convinced they are drowning in them...
If you don't like the genre then good for you but there's an audience for these games outside of Asia, which is why so many companies are jumping on 360 even though they know they'll get sod all sales in their home country as 360 barely exists there...
As for FF13, if you actually did some research, they've stated that they haven't even got the 360 dev kits and are soley concentrating on the PS3 version. That'll then be released in Japan late 2009. We'll then have the usual 6-8 month gap for a US/European version and in that time they believe they can knock up a direct 360 port. So no, the PS3 version isn't getting delayed just for the sake of the 360 version so no need to spit dummy's out.
As for immitating the PS2, damn straight they are. They need another audience and Wii has the casuals so why not aim for the JRPG/anime fans?

Back on topic, I think this game looks great. A more mature looking JRPG when you compare it to Eternal Sonata and the new Tales game.

Well then sorry but your wrong, here you can see it in ANIMATION shown cople of weeks ago on this VERY site: http://www.gamersyde.com/stream_7668_en.html

BiGBoSSMK23: If you don't like RPG's don't play them, and you don't need to trash talk them either, I don't like FPS, I don't go and trashtalk the horde of them.

Those who like RPG's like RPG's and we all who play em play em to enjoy an epic story.

I'm personal very happy to see some varity of games, as it would suck if you had no choice what so ever when you select game

And for the repetitiveness in games in general, it exist in all genres right now there is pretty much no game who got variations in gameplay.

So because there are 7 rpgs out on the console out of literally hundreds of titles, there are too many? Id say its probably the least populated genre on the console. I think the real issue here is your pissed that the PS3 has 0 jrpgs right now. Keep in mind that of those 7 you listed, 4 are not even out yet for most people either.

Ill never understand poeple, if you dont like a genre, and it accounts for less than 4 or 5% of the total games available on the console, than why not just ignore them and go to other games.

Exactly! Besides, we need more Japanese games, not less! And I'm not talking about RPGs, I mean overall. From the Sega Master System until the Dreamcast I'd say that at least 90% of the games I bought were Japanese but now we're swamped with mediocre non-Japanese games, especially FPS games. Why isn't BiGBoSSMK23 complaining about all the FPS games that are "spamming" the market? (I'm not saying all FPS games are crap in any way whatsoever by the way, I love all 3 Halos even though Halo 3 was a little disappointing graphically. And I'm not saying all non-Japanese games are crap either since there are plenty of great non-Japanese games like Gears Of War, Splinter Cell games, the PGR games and Fight Night 3 just to name a few and those are just recent games off the top of my head.) I must admit though that due to illness I haven't been able to go out to import shops (although there aren't many left now, at least near me) and try out the latest Japanese games (or even discover that certain games exist) like I used to be able to but even forgetting the hidden gems there are a lot less Japanese games than there used to be. I really miss the days when Sega would release AAA games what seemed like every month. :(

So you're whining that MS has a list of games in the [JRPG] category, and also now has FFXIII? Yeah, looks like your standard bitter tears to me.

Except they forgot about variety.
Here:

-Record of Agarest War
-Mist of Chaos
-Disgaea 3
-Valkyria Chronciles
-Tears to Tiara

These are all the main JRPGS on the PS3 and they all classify under the [Boring SRPG] category. I understand the PS3 is dying for JRPGs and losing exclusives right and left but c'mon the f**k on.

And finally, Sony made sure their employees were well paid for months due to their policy of not buying third-party exclusives - which is why many of their games are now multiplatform or 360 exclusive.

I'm sorry but it's true. They're going out of their way to do what the Xbox partly did five years ago, because apparently they're dead convinced that the blueprint for market dominance is FPSes. Except they forgot about variety.

LMFAO! Oh my..

People really need to learn to be off other people's nuts once in a while. And you also need to stop trying to dismiss me saying that I'm console biased, because in reality who's the one being quarantined for complaining about having SEVEN STRIKINGLY SIMILAR JAPANESE GAMES released within year.
Also I own both consoles, so please stop kidding yourselves. I have, like half the internet, bitched about the FPS fury. Why do I get backlash for going against the current here? For me, seeing Last Remnant and Infinite Undescovery is the like seeing Lost Odyssey with a different art team and different plot but VERY similar styles of storytelling.
I have the right to complain. Stop getting on my face about it.

PS.
@blinx01. Square actually stated themselves that the PS3 SKU will be HELD BACK until the X360 SKU reaches completion. Might wanna "research" harder.
I'm the one console biased? *lol

It's said it's held back, but for real fans of JRPGs, it's just going to be business as usual... you've always waited 7-8 months for a localization of a JRPG. This time they're just going to do something else with that time.

You have a right to complain as much as we have a right to tell you you're wrong. Your whining doesn't change the facts. Saying you owning both consoles is simply to justify your whining/trolling, instead of the more logical effect of having you embrace both platforms. The point as to why you are not taken seriously and labeled as a PS3 fanboi is because of your insistence on 'SIMILAR JAPANESE GAMES' when the PS2 was doing the exact same thing. Not to mention the JRPGs are not similar to each other at all. Why are they all 'similar' in storytelling? Because they're all Japanese Role Playing Games.

In summary: Cry moar and try harder.

Hmmm, your saying thier similar? Lets see, LO is a traditional teen=adult themed FF style rpg, Eternal Sonata is a quirky action based rpg with extremely bright colors, Star Ocean is traditionally a very deep action rpg which I guess is similar to Tales of Vesperia minus the graphics and plot.(Not too many sci fi jrpgs out there) Blue Dragon is a dragon quest type of rpg that is designed for the younger crowd. I dont see any similarities among any of the rpgs you listed aside from them being on the 360 and them being made in japan. Want me to list all the Western FPS games released on the console? Now there is where you will get similarities. JRPG is the most undermade genre on any console so complaining about getting quality titles in a 2 year period is stupid.

Maybe I should start complaining about having a new Call of Duty game, or maybe how we dont need another gears of war, god knows we have too many action/shooters already. Maybe sports, way to many of those. Then you have the western rpgs that are all the same, I mean, fallout 3, oblivion, fable 2, etc... their all the same, dont need any more of them.......
