Err guys i know it points to an expansion, but i want to know what type of game we are talking about here? squad based OSDT game, single player game, MC carrying on the fight somewhere game?, nothing been answered in that trailer just more questions?????????????

Like a few others have already stated, looks like a Halo 3 expansion or at least a game which puts the focus on events that took place in the game.
Have to say I'm a little let down. If Bungie want to prove themselves as a world class development studio they need to create a killer game outside of the Halo franchaise.
Also, the CG sucked donkey balls in this teaser so obviously little effort went into its creation.
i pray it isnt another master chief focused halo, i hope it is the ODST game they where talking about a while ago, would work well. also, i hope its a stand alone disc based expansion, cos my tiny HDD cant store much more.

However, if this is an expansion to the campaign of Halo3, doesn't this mean that Bungie ripped all of us off with Halo3's original campaign, which was clearly just Halo 2's conclusion released 4 years later on another disc and platform. When I first played Halo3, right from the beginning I noticed that the graphics clearly picked up from Halo2 and it justified my argument that Halo2's conclusion ended abruptly. The game was not finished, so Bungie found a spot to stop the action to meet deadline. It took 4 years for Bungie to release Halo3. How in the hell could they be releasing 3 map packs and another campaign in less than a year, but couldn't bring Halo3 and its used game engine out in less than 4 years. This is proposterous. Screw you Bungie and your cow milk.
Bungie is most likely working on multiple projects, this being the one with most credibility to show off first.
Agreed. They should by now have the resources to be working on several things at once. This CANNOT be their next "major" game. I'm sure they are working on this expansion AND something else.

So I assume you hate almost all sequels then? Seriously man, you need to relax. Yes, Halo 3 didn't have as good of graphics as it should have but it was still a very good game overall. If you hated it that much then I suggest you simply stay away from any and all future Bungie products, as they are not for you.

This should explain most of your questions. The events take place during the story of Halo 2 in a place master chief is no where near. Hope this is informing.
