Microsoft released a new batch of Gears of War 2 images, with hopefully some videos coming soon!
Melmoth @Sdarts: I vaguely remember that game from back then. Never played it. (6 Days ago)
Sdarts I loved this game, you can play with different characters, each with their own abilities. You had a dash, that was basically like flying - Really cool mechanic. Squaresoft at its best. (1 Week ago)
Sdarts But got to a place where I couldn't progress further, because I didn't understand Japanese - before 2000, I wanna say. Really liked it and still remember it randomly sometimes. (1 Week ago)
Sdarts And then later their American versions. There was this Japanese game only released in Japan, I think it was from Squaresoft, the game was quite cool and I went very far in it. (1 Week ago)
Sdarts @nostradamus: Yes, PSX, N64 & Sega Saturn as well. Those days, I played a lot of imported games. I believe I played Final Fantasy 8 around 6 months before the US release. Tenchu 1 & 2 in Japanese. (1 Week ago)

Skorge looks flipping awesome. Although I am sure Marcus will see to it that there isn't much of Skorge left by the end of the game.
Is that in game GFX!!!
A MUST HAVE GAME
by the way do you think there will be GOW 3?
Shame it's all being put into a gung-ho sub-Predator plotline with horrendously stereotypical characters. :P
But then it'll be brainless fun. :D
edit - hm, and do I spot a trace of Giger in some of the building design? It's actually a nice touch, for once. Normally people referencing Giger it ends up black and shiny, for once the influence actually works towards creating a nice aesthetic because of *shock* subtlety. Almost art nouveau esque.
I wonder if we will get to see the so called "Queen"
I really can't wait now.
Bring on the horde mode :D
I really can't wait now.
Good to see Gears 2 being a big step up in that area. :)
We’ve played it. It blew us away. It’ll blow you away too.
First things first: Gears 2 could very well be the game you’ve been dreaming of for the past two years. It’s Gears of War to the power of ten. The hour we spent playing co-op at a recent press event was practically transcendental: it takes puerile fun so effortlessly to the next level the action games of the past 12 months evaporated in seconds. Sorry for the gush, but we really were knocked out.
Why? After our chat with Cliff Bleszinski, a journalist was talking on the phone to his mate.
“It’s the first one with tons of new stuff, the graphics through the roof and all the shit stripped out,” he said. “It’s more than that, though. You won’t believe it.”
Summed up our thoughts. Find out what it’s like to play the first bit after the link. Obviously there are MASSIVE SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT ON. Read at your peril.
We sit down with the co-op campaign, right from the start. The Microsoft PR tells us each player can select their own difficulty setting: the amount of enemies on-screen remains static, but if you select a harder setting you handicap the amount of damage you take and inflict.
Just awesome.
With that said, i'm sure it will once again be the best looking console game when its released. Can't wait. Oh, and i always thought the texture work in the first game was just fantastic. You could get up close to textures and even zoom in, and there was still detail. Kinda like the feeling you got when you first played Halo on the Xbox. Texture went deep
As for the second bunch of screens, you could very well be right as they do look a bit too sharp?
[To spacemanjupiter]You can count on it, we will see that deep textures again in Gears 2. Agree, the first Gears had a very nice and detailed textures, most of them with a very deep look.[/quote]
by the way do you think there will be GOW 3?
Still the first image...the colors...JUST WoOoW
the first was my favorite X-Live Game!!! played it all the time (free time of course!)
